Anal Kaboom.
And I don't really care when we do it as long as it's a day when people will actually show up. We haven't had much luck pulling anything together in a while.

word.
Oddly enough, I would be able to make a NYC meetup on the 26th. Shame.
I'll be in New York for a wedding the week of valentines day.
In the interest of not creating a new thread, I figured I'd ask this here. My girlfriend and I are going to NYC this weekend and will be there until Sunday. We're staying off 49th street.
Aside from checking out the Statue of Liberty, MoMA, Central Park, Times Square, do any of you NY folks have any other suggestions? Inexpensive ideas would be awesome.
Also, where's the best place to get a slice of NY pizza?
Pizza - in New Jersey. Go to the Whitney, it's always excellent even if the exhibit sucks, the small permanent collection is worth it, and see if the Guggenheim has anything interesting. The building itself is fucking awesome. Da Bronx Zoo is nice too but it's a pain to get to imo, and it's winter so probably not the best idea.
Rockefeller Center is a must now that the tree is lit up. Perhaps you can even go skating. It's a zoo though. There are a few of outdoor rinks around the city though besides Rockefeller, any of them is a good time. Catching a show is always fun too but I don't know what's playing at the moment. I want to see Blue Man Group again.
There are too many bars and things to even count. Hit up Williamsburg in Brooklyn for Barcade and BBQ or...I mean shit I could point you to hundreds of bars and restaurants I've enjoyed. I'm currently ready to go to this place in Brooklyn to get this burger...It's called Sheep Station and the burger has pickled beets, pineapple, and a fried egg on it along with all the other regular burger trappings. I mean you could stay in Manhattan and walk down Hell's Kitchen and find a ton of places to eat, or if you want to hang with a college crowd hang near the Bowery, or...I mean what do you want to do?
I really don't know where to get a great NY slice of pizza because I know my local favorites on this side of the river and a lot of the NY pizza I've randomly stopped in and had has been disappointing compared to the ones I've discovered and stuck with over here. Mr. K might know a good one.
If you want the best Pizza NY has to offer you need to go to Brooklyn. Grimaldi's Pizza or Spumoni Gardens would be where you want to go. You can google the names for the address to either one.
Also fuck the MoMa. The collection at the MET shits all over the horrible crap they have at the MoMa minus the Tim Burton collection that's there right now. Plus at the MoMa its 20 bucks to get it, at the MET its what ever you feel like donating. Though the Tim Burton exhibit is awesome, they have stuff going all the way back to his childhood, I don't know if it was worth the 20 bucks I had to pay to see it.
He's right you know.
Spumoni Gardens is the place to go for authentic sicilian by the way. No one goes there for round pizza, so make sure that's your thing. It's right near Coney Island, so you can double up on the trip since you're being touristy. I'd pick DiFara's over Grimaldi's, also. Grimaldi's doesn't sell slices last I checked either.
Since you're staying in Manhattan, go to Artichoke on 14th street. It's a newer place, but it's way up there if you want something a little different. Just rememeber to get an Artichoke slice and not the regular Margerita slice.
The good New York pizza places tend to specialize and not really tolerate custom orders, so keep that in mind. Order what they want you to and move on. The service is universally very Soup Nazi-esque and designed to geep the line moving.
I just made myself really hungry for pizza and I'm stuck in the worst town in Jersey for quality pizza. :(
