Movies you cannot watch again.

This though was brewing in my head since the movies you can watch ad nauseum thread.

So, movies you saw and either during or after thought "Why did I waste my time?" or "God I can't believe I sat through that".

I have several, probably a lot more when I take time to think about it, but:

Neverending Story 2: Garbage. I loved the first movie, still have fun with it today, but Jonathan Brandis should have died BEFORE this movie was ever though of.

Clerks: I have tried to watch this movie. It plods along with boring dialogue and I just can't keep watching it for more than a half hour before I turn it off. I want to like it, but good lord I can't. Clerks 2 I can watch over and over, go figure.

Bruno: What. The. Fuck. I generally enjoy Sacha BC and especially Borat I loved. I can watch that any night of the week and not skip past anything. I went into Bruno hoping for something just as fun/funny and I honestly did not laugh the entire movie (and I laugh easily, especially when drunk). Fuck this movie, I can understand showing a penis for comedic value (Hi, TNL!), but this was just above and beyone stupid.

Here comes the hate train...
Commando: Had never seen it and my friend (like many here) said it was an amazing movie that must be seen cuz it's the first time they let Arnold speak and it's so bad that it's good.
I hate to say but no, it's so bad that it's really bad. Yes, "I lied" is funny in the context of the movie, but a couple (and really there weren't a lot of funny lines) quotes do not make a bad movie good. People 'sploding happens all the time, and most of the time in better context. I'm sorry, this is in no way a "good" movie. Funny, at times, but my life would be fine if I didn't own this movie now. Only reason I'm not selling it is cuz a friend got it for me. Same reason I haven't sold the movies SSJN got my for my Bday last two years (cuz I could make some bank on Barbie and Hanna Montana unopened!)

So you mean movies you don't like rather than movies that were really harrowing? I mean there are plenty of movies I would never ever want to sit through again, ever.... Tyler Perry movies for example.

But hard to watch movies that are still good... eeerr. I mean I know they exist, I just don't bother watching them.

So that's how I'm going to treat it.
First one to jump into my mind was Boondock Saints. LOVED it for years, just can't stomach it any more.

Most mystery movies or movies with a twist.

I've seen a lot of shitty movies, but I have made a commitment to never watch Star Wars Episode 1 or 2 again. I went to Star Wars in Concert last month and had to sit through a bunch of stuff from the first two movies and it made me feel embarrassed to be there.

Shattered Glass.

The Village - If it wasn't freezing outside or if I had driven myself I would have left the theater about half way through the first time. No way am I ever going to sit through that again.

Citizen Kane - I don't care if everyone else in the world says it's the perfect film, there's no way in hell I'm wasting another 2 hours of my life on this pile of shit. I've actually seen it twice, first when I was around 17 and again around 23 just to see if I was originally wrong about it... I wasn't.

Domino - zero desire to ever see this again

Star wars - Episode one.

Oliver Stone's The Doors.

I enjoyed it as a kid and it introduced me to their music (mission accomplised for them, I know) . I went back a few years ago and found it to be so fucking embarassing. SOME of the music is still classic, but the movie is horrible, horrible shit.

Oh yeah ... 2009's G.I. Joe. WTF. I almost left midway through the only other movie to make me wanna do that was Mars Attack.

I was right there with yq until you mentioned MASH. Great movie!

I didn't hate it. I just liked the TV show better. So, seeing most of the characters played by other people kept me from liking it more.

Alien Resurrection Not even Winnona Ryder with short hair could save this, and that is saying A WHOLE FUCKING LOT. It didn't help that it had to come after Alien 3, which was amazing.

The Crow LAWL. Fucking really? I like the part where he's shredding guitar on the rooftop.

Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones NOT GOOD.

Highlander: The Source. As the thread titles says, I'm ashamed I even watched it. Thats saying a lot since I really liked the show. To see the same characters from the show in this pile saddens me. It really is the worst movie I've ever seen.

I guess I could have listed this if I had actually finished it the first time. Turned it off about 40 min in and never looked back. I'll never watch Highlander Endgame again though, that was horrible.

I just thought it was really boring. It may just be because the subject matter isn't all that interesting to me, and that I think the main dude isn't a very good actor. To those more keen to the story, I can see it as enjoyable.

If Melanie Lynskey had a bigger role, I may have been able to sit more comfortable through it. I am surprised I made it to the end.

So what would you say is a better example of a more groundbreaking/technically important film? Twister?

I'd say TMNT 3: Turtles in Time.

That flick was radioactive when it came out. I remember seeing the poster and just being pissed off at it.

I don't think there would have been a Star Wars if not for Citizen Kane.

Kane had to have influenced Coppola, who co-founded American Zoetrope, which made Lucas, who made Star Wars.

Honestly I haven't watched enough pre-Kane flicks to even begin to tell you how "groundbreaking/technically important" it was. But the flick just didn't entertain me, in fact it did just the opposite. I'm not going to argue that the visual style of the film wasn't top notch and groundbreaking. And it may have changed the way all movies that followed it were shot. But in that regard so did Star Wars and it's take on special effects, which also revolutionized the movie industry in it's own way.

One movie bored me to tears and the other I've watched something like 200 times in my life.

I'm the same way too, especially since I got Netflix in 2004. Even my favorite movies I've only watched a handful of times. I stopped buying DVDs for myself years ago because I'd rather just watch something new.

Read through some of Roger Ebert's Great Movies selections and check out some of the older movies. It will broaden your appreciation beyond it being entertaining or not, and a lot of these movies are just as exciting/funny/entertaining as modern stuff. I'm not trying to be a snot, but you're missing out.

Really? Other than hiring porn starts with E-cup jugs I don't know how they could have represented DOA better in the form of a movie. It's stupid as shit but really fun to watch. Just like the games are stupid as shit but fun to play.

Anal Kaboom: I've watched Blade Runner twice, and although the world it is set in is amazing, the actual story and dialog suck imo.

I find that movie hilarious mainly because it's so bombastically perverse and wrong. It seems like something made in an alternate universe.

Blade Runner I didn't like so much the first time I saw it but grew to love it after a couple of viewings. Deckerd is totally a replicant, so is Admiral Adama but not Rachel. I don't see where people get this stuff.

Legend is watchable only because anything Tim Curry does is genius. That's the only reason Clue isn't on my list.

And yeah I can watch all 3 Jurassic Park movies to this day.
