It's been a while, but couldn't you save films from the postgame lobby in Halo 3 as well? Either way, recent games were saved until overwritten.

I'm pretty sure I played the most Halo 3 out of anyone on TNL and I don't know what you meant by jarring changes. Pistol = Magnum except it doesn't suck now, DMR = BR and Needle Rifle = Carbine (with reticule bloom and shorter clips, plus 5 shot kills).

In H3 you had to go to the theater lobby to save the films. Recent games were saved to your system cache. If I would forget to save a film in H3 and switch DVD games in my 360 - those recent H3 films would be gone for good. I used the H3 theater all the time making a stupid Halo webcomic. In Reach you can save films while waiting for the next game to load. Much better.

The jarring changes IMO were listed in my impressions post. From the looks of your stats you havent touched H3 since Thanksgiving. Probably a memory problem :)

Nah, hadn't played since 08 but Reach felt natural from the start. Still AR start, still switching to the Magnum on spawns, and still wishing I had a BR. :lol: The melee system is the only really giant change IMO but I think it's an improvement.

When does it go live for ODST?

My biggest complaint about the game is how spawning next to your teammates (Bad Company 2-style) is set up. You have to press up or down on the D-pad during your spawn timer. The problem is that you always have to choose your loadout before you can select your spawn point. I'm always pressing up or down to switch my spawn, but I don't realize that I'm only switching my loadout until right before my respawn timer runs out.

I have two recommendations for this.

1) Gray out the spawn indicator until you select your loadout. Make it obvious that you can't change your spawn point until you pick your loadout.

2) Change spawn scrolling to left and right on the D-pad. It allows you to choose where you want to spawn before you select your loadout.

Hey Master, would you prefer if we post recommendations to improve the beta on this thread, or is there a more formal way through Bungie's website that would be better for the recommendations?
