The countdown ended early, but the facebook app seems to be not working yet.
So for only $1,249.99 I can play Halo: Reach right now?
Is anyone down for co-oping Halo 3 and/or ODST sometime soon before Reach comes out? I never finished either game on Legendary.

Oh, isn't THIS interesting. (Gamerscore blog accidentally posted a link to the FTP server of the PR firm for Reach, and it has all of the assets for download. Nothing that we haven't already seen though)
EDIT: I guess that's the firm that does all of Microsofts 1st party PR because you can access Alan Wake, 1 vs 100, Crackdown, etc assets from that same url.

Can you not make movies out of the campaign videos? I wanted to just cut up the parts with him (and the part where Chux drove his chopper into our chopper exploding us into a million pieces) instead of watching the whole damn video, but I didn't even see a skip ahead option. You can fast forward, but it isn't very fast, and you can't rewind or record.

I thought they were all good. ODST was a little short but I really liked it.
It's a prequel to the original Halo. Takes place during the fall of the planet Reach, Humanity's largest military installation other than Earth, where 99% of the Spartan's died.
Reading some of the reviews, and it's kind of stupid how sprint is considered an equipment ability. So if you pick up another equipment ability, like jet pack, cloak, or whatever, sprint gets swapped out and you can no longer run.

It kind of makes sense that you can't sprint with the jetpack, at least.
Yeah, I would have liked for every class to have a short little sprint and then have the dedicated class just have it last 3x longer. Though I can definitely sense where it would have led to a lot of frustration to let the Active Camo loadout guys dash around too.
The beta was fun as fuck, regardless. The abilities and new modes make this game's MP so much better than the others (Headhunter is glorious chaos), and firefight with actual matchmaking will be rad. This is the leap Halo 3 should have been.

Kotaku had some really nice things to say about this game today.
Anyone in the West Coast getting this at midnight PST? I decided to pick it up then and will play through the Heroic campaign for a few hours. I'll be on all day Tuesday after 2:00 or 3:00 PM EST if anyone wants to do co-op then.
I didn't buy ODST because it looked like shit, but this game seems like it may actually be good. Am I correct in my assessment?

I doubt this game is bad or anything, but it's really tough to take any reviews about this game at face value. It's spotted 9 points just for being Halo.
Say what you will about the game but Bungie usually winds up doing unbelievably rad console multiplayer stuff that I wish every company would rip off but no one ever does.
So if this is anything like Halo 2 and 3, I'll sign on the multiplayer mode all excited about the options/modes, hear "nigger" forty times in sixty seconds then never play again. God bless XBox Live.
