About beer... Yesterday a couple of us did the obligatory beer-grill. Notable beers were 2005 Olde School barleywine which I believe could stand to age a couple more years (I know, right?). It retained all that super syrupy nose but mellowed the harshness of the alcohol to a smooth almost cream soda. Also Anchorage White Ipa. Beautiful head retention, citrus and "cat piss" on the nose, almost champagne-like mouthfeel with a brett/saison funk and light wheat balance.

I've got two bottles from 09, 10, and 11. I guess I'll keep waiting on them.
That Anchorage IPA sounds awesome.

In celebration ... I had Deaths Door White Whiskey(left shot glass), Deviant Dale's IPA(tall), and a BBQ Pulled Pork Sammy from The Whiskey Bar at the Revel Resort in AC.

Also Flying Dog paid for me to get my Cicerone beer server certification this week. They are making all the people in marketing study and get certified. I totally respect this.
