I don't think it's amazing, I just... didn't regret buying it. I'd give it a... B on my arbitrary rating scale.
I was at Trader Joe's this evening and bought the $1.99 six pack of Red Oval. Guess what? It's not very good! It's not especially bad. It just tastes like college, which is exactly what I expected.
$1.50 of that is probably taxes so you really can't expect much from a 50 cent six-pack.
Fun tip: leave a can of Trader Joes beer out overnight, it turns into yeast dust IMMEDIATELY.
It's been getting a lot of love as a beginner's beer, not as a beer-lover's beer. It tastes like chocolate milk. It's good with a hearty meal, and it's a good girly drink that anyone can enjoy. It is not, however, terribly complex.Quote:

I just picked up bottles of Young's Double Chocolate Stout (bought it in pint bottle cuz I didn't want to pay for the 4 pack of cans) and a bottle of Allagash White for $4 and $9 respectively. Probably expensive but whatever.
Allagash White is a fine fucking beverage.
I'll get into it tonight or tomorrow-- I don't know if I can do the full 750ml alone in a night though.
Also, Josh, the store I just found had Dogfish 90/120s, WWS, Pangaea, Fort, and Squall. Which shall I pick up next time I go? (I won't get the 120 until I try the 90, which I won't get until I try the 60, so don't bother there)
Also--- should I be refrigging the Double Chocolate or the Allagash? I'm probably going to go with the Young's tonight.
