It's the fucking bomb. And it's cheap.
It's not bad.
It's also completely unremarkable thus making your "best pumpkin beer" an absolutely ridiculous claim.
In all fairness pumpkin beer is pretty unremarkable...
From what I understand about the Eastern Shore, you're never going to find a "fancy" beer over there.
Unless Bud Light Lime is fancy.
This one place had some of the big bottle Belgians, it was where we got that Three Philosophers.
Let me guess: Chimay and Duvel?
(Not that there's anything wrong with Chimay or Duvel, but they're pretty much everywhere).
Somebody has never been to the Eastern Shore I see.
IT'S NOT LIKE HE'S MISSING OUT ON ANYTHING
Spectacular views.
OF NEW JERSEY
Wait what? I think we're talking about two different Eastern Shores.
yeah, you're right, delaware's blocking the view of jersey
I'm drinking Budweiser. I hate Ohio.
Update: went to the Great Lakes brewery. Mostly average, except for a brewpub exclusive called "Wit Till Next Year" which is, I think, the most interesting Belgian style beer I've ever had. Cardamom, corriander, grains of paradise, and black pepper. Fucking awesome.
I don't care much for Great Lakes brewery either. But I always use their 4 pack boxes when making a mix pack at the liquor store. They are great for that.
Stopped last weekend at the New Holland brewpub on my way up the western Michigan coast. Forgot that we had a time change and was unable to get food (we thought it was 9, it was 10 and the kitchen just closed). So, on an empty stomach, I only had 1 beer. A strong ale called Dragon's Milk. Very tasty. Wish I would have had time to let it rest and warm up a bit more. Followed this up with a dinner of Burger King...
Also picked up a 6 pack of New Holland's saison. I'm not super familiar with saisons but this was decent. I could see how it could be done really well. Was simple and slightly spicy, which worked wonderfully to drink over the hot weekend on the lake I was on. The other pack I bought was Diabolical IPA from the North Peak brewery out of Traverse City. Never heard of it, but it came in stubby bottles which was cool. This beer is totally all hops and seriously tasted like it could have been about 9% abv (although it is 6.66%, lol). Not bad for a tiny little brewpub. Too bad the after taste lingers like somebody shit hops into your mouth.

Exquisite. So good I had to steal the glass.

Ohh shit its fucking June Southern Tier's Creme Brule stout should be available soon right?????
Sat afternoon Dechutes Jubel 2010 on tap at Neighborhood in San Diego. Really awesome beer. I'm going to buy a bottle to put away if I can find it.
Sat night Lost Abbey Judgement Day. It was good but I think the Jubel 2010 spoiled me.
Also found a bottle of Coton by the Bruery, an anniversary beer of theirs and one of the Dogfish Head/Victory/Stone collaboration Saison du Buff brewed with parsley sage rosemary and thyme.
I tried to find Sam Smith strawberry around here, but apparently the central Florida distributor doesn't carry it. I am sad.
I went to a rad beer store called full throttle bottles the other day and saw some ten fidy! Just got through the 4 pack last night. Man, that stuff is so fucking good.
Just ordered a $3000.00 2 tower/4 keg draft system for the store so I'll be able to fill up growlers (64/128 oz) with stuff you can only find on tap. Looking forward to it.
That's pretty bad ass.
I'll post whatever I have on tap either here on the soon-to-be-created South Fork Beverage Facebook page. Growlers should hold their carbonation decently enough if sealed.
Picked up singles of: Delirium Tremens, Three Philosophers Belgian Style Blend, Allagash White (fucking 12 oz bottles? awesome.) and Saranac Summer Brew cuz it's delicious.
Hey hub (or anyone else) got any recommendations for bottles of red in the $50-$70 range for father's day?
my store's got this. It's the jam, although I've never taken advantage of it.
I still haven't found Allagash. 9 stores now, Eastern Shore and Real World.
i'm sure anyone of us will ship it to you. just ask.
I still have a bottle of Triple Reserve with your name on it, jerk.
I'm broke so I quit drinking :(
Gonna try hitting up that Oak Tree Buy Rite this weekend in search of that Creme Brulee stout.
First up, a picture of the fridge at my beer store to troll Chux:

Everything else is the new stuff I've had over the past month or so.
The Heavy Seas Tripel was fucking awesome. You should all pick some up if they make it again this holiday.
I was also surprised at how good the Souther Tier Heavy Wizen was.
The Big Red was pretty dull, I wouldn't get this again. It was "farty"
The Rogue Chocolate Stout I had with a slice of chocolate cake, and the shit was bangin'.
The Oskar Blues Gubna is all the bite and sharpness of an IPA without any of the citrusy or, dare I say, floral notes. It was kind of lame, actually.
Dogfish Chateau Jiahu is not my favourite beer they make, but it was alright I guess? It's near the bottom of the list for me.
Heavy Seas Hop Rye Porter didn't make much of an impression on me.
The Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald is one hell of a porter. Closer to a Stout than a Porter, imo. I would drink this all day and all night if it were available in Maryland. Delicious.
Dogfish Chicory Stout. Stout with Coffee flavours. Standard.
had that heavy weizen in hand the other day, Josh-- was intimidated by whatever a heavy weizen was, though. :p
What it is is a finely balanced and tasty beer. Recommended!
Fuck if I know/care. It's good.
It didn't sell out in June, it sold out like 2 months ago.
Well then Southern Tier are liars, they said it wouldn't be available until June.
Unless you're being daft and talk about last years supply. I just got off the phone with them and they should have it in on July 1st.
Yeah, I was talking about last year's. The Oak Tree people tell me ST is really unreliable about meeting their release dates, btw.
The new Ninkasi Kraken. Release it.
Looking at you, Pa, Joust, Shakey, and the rest of you Pac NWers.
I had some Samuel Smith cherry thing that was one of the only beers I can stand.
The Three Philosophers Quadrupel is on fucking point.
So I just went and picked up another bottle and a bottle of Immort Ale. I'll be drunk off 2 beers later for $7.80. Nice.
Anybody have any fancy Bohemian or Trappist beers to recommend? I want to try some fancy beer that adheres to purity law.
I know the place you're talking about... it truly is a mecca of beer.
That's what my friends said. The Corridor will have it, The Corridor has everything.
Hrm.
yeah, that's it, corridor. It's awesome. It's about the size of a normal CVS, although it's mostly wine and liquor.
There might be a place in severna park (which is like 40 minutes closer than f'ng laurel) that has it.
If there is a place in Severna Park with a sweet selection, let me know-- my girl lives right by there in Parole/Annapolis.
my god the immort ale is so good.
So Harbor Gates? I work at the credit union across from Eastern Mountain Sports.
BTW The place I was looking at was here
Allagash is good, but it's really not worth the effort you're putting in to get it. There are tons of other beers that are just as good or better.
Dawson's has it. STOKED.
Report back, ngr.
P.S. This is Saison Dupont weather. 83 degrees in my fucking apartment.
A/C.
No central air and security bars on all the windows. Welcome to Baltimore.
Here in NY they give you the security bars with the space for an air conditioner. You got hosed.
How was the selection at Dawson's?
Also, if you didn't get the Allagash Quadrupel, you fail.
PS-- what's the name of the credit union? the festival at riva directory map online is too small to read.
edit-- found pics on their site. The selection looks impressive. I look forward to checking it out next time I'm in town-- it's a 10 min drive from my girl's place.
Say that while you and your woman sleep in a sweat-covered bed.
I do, and I will.
Filthy.
Enjoy your asshole meat.
in before mom jokes
He's talking about Allagash Four, which is a 750ml bottle. At least I think so.
edit: perhaps not? Google hints at it being in a 4-pack these days.
The four I saw was a 750.
Just grabbed a bottle of Victory Prima Pils and my first ever bottle of Duvel after reading that list.
How jealous are you? ;)
On tap: Magic Hat #9, Brooklyn Summer, Killians (I had it laying around an had to get rid of it), & Long Ireland (local 5.5% only available on draft). In the hole: DFH 60, 2x Capt Lawrence (excellent upstate NY brewery), Blue Point Double Blonde and Rastafar Rye, Delirium Tremens, and Southampton Double White.
Edit: If you want to follow what I have on tap & available in grolwers, become a fan of "South Fork Beverage" on FB.
I have the feeling I should try Dogfish.
Chux: you should go tour their brewery. It's about an hour from you.
