Suddenly Finding Alcohol Revolting
I've always really loved a good beer (or bourbon) and the only socializing I tend to do is at the bar and rock shows (and the bike shop, I guess), where I usually will be found with a drink in hand.
For the past several months, though, the very thought of alcohol of any kind has been nauseating. There was no 'experience' that lead up to this, either- no brutal hangover or getting drunk and into a fight, epiphany, or anything like that. It was just like, one day (at the beach) my body just decided to do a complete 180 on the stuff and suddenly the bottle of one of my favorite wines I brought stopped looking so good (and remains unopened to this day, 4 months later). And on the 3 or so occasions since that I've had so much as a single beer, my stomach has tied itself in knots and I feel totally shitty for about 2 days.
I'm not complaining, mind you- not drinking has many perks- but I am curious as to what could cause this. In fact, I rather like it. I'm just mildly concerned that maybe it's a symptom of something else. I remember Josh having this situation when he was afflicted with flesh-consuming sickness, but thus far my appetite seems otherwise unaffected (except possibly increased to make up for the calories I used to get out of a bottle). Google hasn't turned up much for me.
Anyone else ever deal with this?
