Some of us were talking last night and my mind started wandering and I got to thinking of a game with awesome pause music, but I couldn't remember which game it was. In the end, I'm pretty sure I was thinking of SNES Street Fighter 2
but I am not 100% on this. SO! If you guys know of any other games with awesome music post it here. Like, say, Battletoads!
Battletoads is the fucking king. I love any (NES-era) Konami pause sound, though!

No way. We still have Best Loading Screen Font (Space Channel 5 Part 2), Best Seizure Warning Inserts (SNES), Best Game Save Icon (Klonoa 2), Best Memory Card Management Screen (Dreamcast), and Best Menu Screen Confirmation Sound (Blue Dragon) to discuss to great lengths!
The scat version of Super Mario Bros 2's overworld music when you pause the game is tops.

It's amazing how much better the themes ended up sounding for the SNES version of Final Fight. The arcade soundtrack sucks so hard in comparison.
