Who's your favorite Golden Axe 1 character?

What I don't get is that if he's a dwarf, then why is he way bigger than the townspeople?

He was my choice too although Ms. Flare is the nicest to look at. I almost never use Ax-Battler.

Ax-Battler.

I always use the Amazon. Not because I'm a pervert, but because I always tend to play magic-oriented characters when I get the chance. And maybe because I'm a pervert.

I dig the elves, myself. You know, the charming little munchkins who you have to wallop to recieve magic vials.

Golden Axe is one of those games that I loved as a child, but can not stand to play now.

I almost always chose Gilius Thunderhead. I am not sure why. He just seemed the coolest. I guess my second choice was usually Tyris Flare.. she looked cool and played cool.

Ax-Battler was just a little too.. err... He-Manish/beefcake for me I guess. I rarely pick the brutes in games like this. I never picked "Warrior" in Gauntlet either.

Amazon. I usually find games like that kinda boring, so she kept things entertaining. :D

Agreed, to some extent. I still enjoy a quick Golden Axe romp now and then.

I usually pick Tyris Flare just because her magic is ten times cooler than that of the other two characters.

It's good to enjoy Golden Axe for a 15 minute jaunt every now and then. I usually pick Gillius Thunderhead- what he lacks in magic power, he makes up for with the axe.

One thing I've noticed in the arcade version is that you can repeatedly kill enemies using magic- you can save up a magic charge, then leave a few potions strewn out in the boss area. Do some damage to each of the enemies, get near your stash on the ground, and fire away with the potions you are currently carrying. If all goes right, you should hear the screams of slain enemies. Pick up a potion and blast them one more time. Keep doing that until your stockpile on the ground is used up, and you have a few extra kills to boost your strength rating.

Gilius. He swings a mean axe.

Tyris Flare - She does have a cooler magic, plus DJ always grabs the guy characters, so I end up playing with chicks :)

Dwarf is cool too though .

I go with Tyris myself, sure Ax-Battler and Gilius had better attack power, but with the ridiculously devastating magic Tyris could let fly, she was the obvious choice for me.

That and she was also, ah, more pleasing to the eye ;)
