Yeah I read it. Guy finds temple. It is older than any of the pots or remains of cities that we have found.
And then he jumps to the conclusion that these ruins are the oldest man made structres in the world, and people met to worship at them, and while they were there they thought up houses and farming. That at some point they said to themselves "Hey this temple would rock if we didn't have to go hunt and gather up fruit. Maybe we should like, build our own shelter here by it."
The dude has no way of knowing that. He says himself that resources were all imported. That there were no fire pits or hut remains. For all he knows, this was a religious area that people went on journeys to, or was 20 minutes away from the actual town.
Besides, the guy has only uncovered 5% of the ruins. How can he make such game changing claims when he has only looked at 5% of something? There could be the remains of pots or huts in that other 95%
But they were a lot more loosely defined. You'll also notice that there was no direct written language there, or even any clear symbolic communication. Meaning that this would even predate the language needed to define itself.
I'm beginning to wonder if what was previously considered the beginnings of religon was, in actuality, when a ruling class of some sort started to use religon to manipulate people.
