I look forward to reading the ESRB rating paragraph on this!
I dunno, I tend to think the first one sold pretty balls, but then when has that ever stopped Atlus? Fun game though, yes!
This one looks to carry over the whole cast from original, so you should probably go ahead and play that first if you're interested.
I liked the original, the fighting is a lot of fun! I didn't finish it, so in that way it is like Every RPG I Have Ever Played.
I enjoyed the first game. I will buy this if it comes out over here.
Pretty much the same sentiments. I enjoyed the first one, didn't quite finish it.
Based on that video, the sequel seems to have a lot more playable characters, which is great. I expect it will come at the cost of character customization (via skills or equipment), which was already lacking in the first one. I think it makes up for it with the combat engine and all the creative attacks that you can tinker with, so if this keeps it about the same while adding new guys and, hopefully, a somewhat engaging story then ++
Also, while the little jump-in animations are cute, I'll say some of the dialogue in the first one was a little...awkward? Embarrassing? Big boobs bouncing around is one thing, because hey, that's what they do, but when characters are all "milk those udders, cow princess" it gets a little skeevy. Even for me.
Nah, everyone in that video isn't a main playable character. From what I could gather from a moonspeak info vid I saw on this awhile back, there's ~4-6 new main characters, then a butt-ton of striker-only characters that can come in for a quick attack like the back row did in 1. Look closely at the lower right corner, there's up to 3 character portraits to call in while you're attacking here, where there were 2 in the first.
Yeah, I wasn't looking that closely. Given how much animation is involved, I'm sure you're right. It looks as if there's some new combo-supers with up to 3 characters (or maybe just that one), but it'd still be pretty cool if they add in more options with the striker types.
It isn't that long of a game and trying to get as high combo as possible was fun.
