No motion control, handheld or WiiWare please. I would like a new Gradius game on 360/PS3. Wishful thinking I'm sure.
..god I hate motion control.
It's going to be a 3d shooter, like Wing Commander that you control with the Arc.
I'm calling it right now.
Fine by me, I'm still waiting for Colony Wars 4.
So, Solar Assault is finally heading to home consoles?
i wouldn't be surprised if it's just an unfortunately titled compilation
If Gradius Arc uses motion control, that wouldn't surprise me. A 2D game could probably use the Arc controller for Otomedius style targeted attacks, but that shit can GTFO.
I'm a bit worried about them calling it "Arc" instead of "6" or "VI". Hopefully the word "Arc" is being used similarly to "Gaiden".
I fully came in here expecting to see a forgettable handheld version - but this may be worse than anything I could have imagined...
It's clearly slang for arcade! XBLA CONFIRMED
Better than motion control at least
Please, no Gradius waggle. I know Otomedius had some touchscreen shit in arcades. Did that totally suck?
I wouldn't mind this! It's still not emulated, is it? I only got to play it once and I still can't remember where that goddamn arcade was. It was either a PA amusement park (Dorney or Hershey?) or somewhere in Florida.
Otomedius has a Burst attack, which will stop the game for a few seconds and give you time to touch the screen to target enemies. The 360 version works with a cursor, and Konami even released a bundle version with a special touchpad equipped stick. This went for around $450, so I didn't bother - if it cost half of that, I would've been tempted.
Shame the 360 didn't (and still doesn't) have a light gun or other pointing device. Otomedius would not be too bad with Project Natal support.
