Wow. This game is gorgeous. I'm playing on Hard (but not Insane... fuck permadeath), and it is definitely a challenge. I'm with you, Ed, on the controller. I started off with the M/Kb, but the setup is so different than the first game that it's more like Oblivion and very controller friendly.
I wonder what the 12 hidden Achievements are...
So is combat actually responsive with sounds that sync up and such? The first game rather killed my desire for this so I'm waiting for impressions before deciding if I should really care.
I really have to figure out if I can run this, I hear a lot of people saying it has graphics up there with Crysis. Although I recall being able to run Crysis pretty well back when I first got this computer, so it's probably fine.
The requirements for this are notably higher than Crysis. This is the first game I ever recall being below the required specs for, although not by much so I'm hoping I can still run it. Gonna try a "demo" before I spend money, though.

It reminds me of Oblivion's melee combat after a relatively short sample, although this has an option for a heavy attack as well that I don't remember in Oblivion.Quote:

Does the story continue directly after The Witcher 1. Can I jump right into this one without knowing what unfolded in part one are should I play part one first?
The combat in the first game was laregly the product of trying to hammer an action based combat system into an engine completely built for turn based combat. Red has always said that Witcher 2's combat would be completely rethought and that they never wanted it to be like it was in the first place. Why is this so unbelievable to you?
