After the UMD announcement I finally caved and got Ys on PSN and you are right, it is SO GOOD. Who would have thought that running into your enemies and having them explode into a pile of limbs and blood would be so much fun in 2012?Quote:

There's quite a lot of thought, planning, and customization that can go into it compared to many other grindy games. To level your characters and items most efficiently, there is more or less a "right" way of doing things, but even within this framework there is plenty of wiggle room.
That said, I doubt I'd bother if I didn't like the world, story, and characters so much. Even after five playthroughs, I still watch and enjoy the cutscenes. Just the right mixture of whimsy and heartstring tuggins.
I got Monster Hunter Freedom 2 and Unite for $15 in a bundle. Liking Unite, but hating the controls. Is Freedom 2 better, worse, or just different from Unite? I saw you can port those characters over into Unite, so I just might...
Same exact game, more missions, armors, weapons, and a Nargacuga.

Is there anybody on here who (a) has a PSP, (b) has custom firmware 620PRO permanent installed, and (c) is able to install and play purchased digital content from the PlayStation Store on it?
Steps A and B I've done successfully—but now I'm stuck on step C. I've seen mention that there is a fix to this (maybe some sort of OFW toggle for when you copy the games over to activate them?), but so far I've had no success.
Falcom is one of only a very few developers that make remakes I don't mind buying over and over again. Their work exudes such charm and care that it's easy to overlook that you're playing what are basically 25 year old games with a (semi)new coat of paint and minor alterations. It helps that the simple gameplay has stood the test time, and that Chronicles got an amazing new arrangement of the classic soundtrack.Quote:
