Such a great review! I'll buy 2.

Sid Meier's Pirates is one of my favourite PSP games. A few glitches aside (sometimes you see ships zooming at lightspeed over land), it's probably the best version of the 2004 remake. Every activity in it is short and you can save at anytime, making it perfect for on-the-go gaming.
Another game I really like is Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure. It's nothing mindblowing, but it is a very, very charming action/RPG.
It's definitely an acquired taste, but WTF can either be very entertaining or the worst thing you have ever played. It's like WarioWare, but if that game had minigames deliberately designed to not be fun.
Is it just me or are 80% of the good games on the PSP RPGs?
Besides maybe Kenka Bancho and DJ MAX Portable 2, I can't think of any non-RPG I want to buy in my quest to grab the good games while they're cheap.
That sounds about right. 80% RPGs, 15% remakes or collections, 5% original content.

Been playing me some Ys I & II. Bumping is fun!
I want to get more of these games. I hear-tell Oath in Felghana (aka III Remix) is NES hard, which is REALLY appealing to me. I'm probably going to get it on Steam regardless at the very least to support the release of more Ys PC games. Still, a PSP version for me to play on the train would be great. It's not horribly flawed, is it? How about Ys Seven compared to the console release?
I kinda want Ys VI, too... but I've been hearing things about Konami's release...
Ys 7 console release?
Found Ys I and II today for $20. Yippee.
That reminds me, I still need to finish Ys II. I was right at the end, but then the Vita was released, and now I'm in the middle of Radiant Historia. I need more time.
Hey, guys! Check out this game!
That is gorgeous.
Vanillaware? If so, it is likely a succubus.
I just started playing 7 this weekend and I'm really digging it (I've only played Book 1 on the Wii VC so I'm not super familiar with the series).. I have put in about 5 hours already and will be going back and playing as many as I can in the series. How does the PSP version of 1 and 2 compare to the original TG-16CD/Wii VC releases?
It has been a few years since I played the TGCD version, but the PSP game kicks the shit out of the TGCD version. And I'm a Turbo fanboy.
Gonna have to agree on that.
I loved that game so the idea of replaying it with it being better is very appealing. Is it still without an attack button?
It's still about Big Bumpin', yeah. The DS port added an attack button, if you're interested.
Fuck the DS port.
Also, you can select what music you want from the original PC88 tunes, the PC Game, or the new kickass version. No option for TGCD tunes unfortunately, but I prefer the kickass music.
I was looking at the DS ones too... man, so many ways to play the same game over and over haha
Ys DS is awful.
I love DS, I love Ys. This looks horrible in a way that many a Saturn/Psone title managed to maim a otherwise sound title.
So it's just a graphical issue with the DS version? Otherwise the same game?
Ok, cool... thanks. I should take it one day at a time though, still working on 7.
If you arent too far into 7, stop. Its much easier to start with the older games and move on from there. 7 is the culmination of everything they learned the previous games. It may be hard to stick with the old ones if you already played the newest.
Im not saying that that would be everyones case, but ive heard countless times that for some people, that is the case.
With all of this Ys talk, someone should make an Ys thread or something already.
My vote for title: "Ys Thread: Ancient Ys Discussed Series"
I hard something about a f2p Ys game but links I found were dead.. Is the game done?
Signs point to yes. If it is still alive it looks like anything related to the English version is long gone, so it would be Korean only.
It looked like it was European only and never got past beta. The videos didn't look so hot either. I don't think you're missing much.
Hopefully something better can come along then.
Anybody have experience with THE two DJMAX games that were released domestically? I'm hearing tell that the digital versions have all these patches that aren't available on the UMD. Given that I'm tipping them anyway, Is there any point to the disc's?
Received the Sonic Rivals 2 pack as a gift.
These games are TERRIBLE. How can you take a decent concept and...
Oh, wait. Backbone.
DJMax Fever 2 isn't on PSN anymore. So in that case there IS.
That's just digital failure. :yuck:
Hey Nerd Collectors.
Best Buy has dropped all pre-owned PS2 (I never see any of these in store) and PSP games (I do see these in store) to $.99.

Nice, I've still got to pick up my Pokemans so I'll check the two stores close to here later.
I haven't seen a used PSP game at Best Buy in months. They have less than a half dozen new games still holding on until they're sold out.
Of the three Best Buys in my immediate area, two are like yours GV. One still has a bit of a selection though.
I have 4 Fry's in the Dallas/FTW area that I frequent. They had a pretty good selection up until the past month or 2. I did pick up a copy of Monster Hunter: Freedom for $5 today, from the Fry's used bin; It's not really a used title though.
Fry's will pretty much be my last outlet for PSP titles from brick and mortar locations, then it's off to Amazon.
Picked up chinatown wars, pop rival swords, star ocean, and soul calibur.
Went way too far, and managed to get 2x castlevania X, no case MGS PW, every extra extend, and lumines 2. Thanks for the heads up.
The other store only had 4 titles, with Fifa Soccer 11 being the only used title. I picked it up, since it was only $.99. I'll try it out tonight, while I'm kicking back in the motel.
Mine had nothing used, just a few new games I didn't care about. Oh well, I didn't feel like charging the PSP anyway.
...
Shit.
I think those bins just had a shitload of Wii games at my stores, but I'll check again next time.
No, you keep looking. All the PSP games you ever wanted are buried somewhere inside of your local Best Buy. If you're lucky you might score a few dozen copies of Major League Baseball•2011.
Jackpot!
I stopped at a Best Buy in Bentonville Arkansas. I picked up Soul Caliber: Broken Destiny, untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade, Jeanne D'Arc and Patapon. I also picked up a couple of PS2 titles. The grand total was $7.40!
Hit a Best Buy by my girlfriend's and walked out with Hot Shots Golf 2, Lumines II, Prince of Persia Forgotten Sands and some Naruto shit. They also had an early NFS, but I was far more likely to play the Naruto shit than that shit.
Also blew $18 on that Rocket fish 4 PS3 device charger because I forgot to bring my PS3 controller cable. ::tu::
Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee 2 is great, nice pick-up.
Jeanne D'Arc is fantasic.
Why was today the first time I had heard of Akiba's Trip?
I kinda want it...
I like how the logo makes it unclear if it's Akibas Trip or Akiba Strip. It's sort of like Petsmart.
