So maybe (maybe!) the Red Sox are in trouble. Maybe.
That whole "run prevention" thing isn't really working out.
lawl Braden went from that dumbass who kept going apeshit over Arods jock to one of the very few pitchers to ever throw a perfect game
Hey A-Rod, now do you know who Dallas Braden is?
No? He's the guy that just threw the 19th perfect game in history... against the first-place Rays.
A-Rod is a twat.
Nice to see the Jays getting all of these come from behind wins but they are playing with fire living by the long ball. The starting pitchers are starting to cool off and it's only a matter of time before the bats cool off.
Still, enjoying it while I can.
Flashback time: Last year, around this time, the surprisingly awesome Jays were 27-14, running train on everyone and everything in sight. After a series sweep of the White Sox, they rolled into Fenway, hoping to take their winning ways on the road. The trip was disastrous, culminating in a nine game losing streak that sent their season off the rails.
Tomorrow, after stealing a series from the White Sox, the surprisingly not-shitty, Halladay-less Jays (19-14) head to Beantown. The fear is that Boston will find their groove against the Jays (especially considering they're clobbering the Yankees right now), and Toronto will enter a protracted slump, killing any excitement they might have built up this season. Earlier this season the Jays were swept by the Red Sox in three ridiculously tight, winnable games.
Error: Yeah, you're right. At some point pitchers around the league will pick up on Toronto batters' propensity for swinging at anything and everything around the plate. Likewise, batters will figure out that Jays pitchers rely on the change-up and adjust accordingly. I hate to say it but this hot streak just can't last. And that's a shame.
Also: Alex Rios is a bastard. Of the six home runs he's hit this season, three of them have come against the Jays. He was perfect at the plate today, figuring into most of the ChiSox offensive outbursts. I wonder whether he'll still be money with the bat now that Chicago's done facing Toronto.
