Except they aren't blowing us up for shits and giggles. This isn't Pearl Harbor. We can't drop a bomb on Kabul or Baghdad and have Islam extremism surrender. Wikileaks "loose lips" allow us to know what fucked up shit the corporations and governments are doing in the middle east and other Arab places that is pissing Islam off so badly so we might be able to do something about it.

I'm more "afraid" of the shit the CIA does to foster terrorism than I am anything else. People don't say boo about the CIA running Pakistani intelligence or funding the other side of the fight for corporate and strategic gain. A lot of the shit that is slung your way was bred from meddling. I don't condone that, but you're dealing with the symptom, not the cause. Regardless, exposing the lies and corruption of your government has been stellar thus far. It empowers people to make education decisions.

p.s. That Huffington Post article is a joke. Huffington Post has shown absolutely NO backbone for exposing the truth. They are part of the media - the same media that failed to investigate the allegations of WMD in Iraq, and the same network of information DyneCorp laughed at when a reporter realized they were supporting pedophilia. The manager laughed it off, knowing the "truth" of the investigation would be so watered down the report would be a footnote.

If someone took your kid and fed his asshole to Iraqi police you'd probably go a little batshit insane, too.

All the other shit WL releases I'm okay with (as I've said many times already), but no crimes or fucked up shit was exposed when they posted the sites critical to US national security. That's my only beef and that's the straw that broke the camel's back. If you feel that information should be shared with the public, then we'll just have to agree to disagree.

1. Daniel Elsberg supports WikiLeaks.
2. It's inaccurate to claim the value of the cables considering 0.5% of them have been published.
3. Illegal accounts of Government knowledge to corporate corruption, including the control of foreign offices, violations of war crimes based on US intelligence and underage prostitution are 'embarrassing'? !
4. How does WikiLeaks not respect the law while Elsberg did? Elsberg was a US citizen who directly stole and released information, WikiLeaks is a multinational non-profit who accepted information from a source and released it with old media guidance.

I draw a harder line with the government - why is it allowing a list of sensitive sites in the world get out on such unsecured channels?

I think he has a right to say whatever he wants. Freedom of speech is a wonderful thing. I like some of the things he's doing, but I think he crossed a line by posting the cable about sites critical to US national security. There was no "whistle-blowing" taking place when he released that info.

Does anybody have a link to the cable with the security sites? I have not been able to find it. Seems we should actually see what the cable says before we discuss it, and I want to discuss it.
