I got this for the PC. Diminishes my chances of playing with you fags, but if you have it let me know.
1) Open photoshop.
2) Type out your response and save image.
3) Keep on trollin.
Remember when I said I wouldn't buy a $60 PC game?
Yeah, I meant it when I posted it. Then I got a spare $22 in bottle returns, and now it's sitting here waiting to be installed on my PC. I could have sworn I used to have willpower...
James
I got this. I'll be on after dinner.
This game is so good. Fuck the pussies who hate all the dick talk and shitter humor. It's so over the top it's glorious.
Good games tonight fellas. I'm off tomorrow, so I should be around to play this more.
There's a guy that follows you everywhere in the campaign and there's no co-op? What a waste.
It's almost like what The Club 2 could have been. it's a lot of fun man. Gonna try multi tomorrow, I can see that being the best part of it.
This game actually had Mardin excited which I've heard maybe twice in three years.
Black Ops is fun when you have a good group running through, and despite some lame parts the single player was pretty decent. You stop with your accusations!
Since I am getting to review, I'll play with you assholes this weekend. My copy should be here tomorrow. I asked for the 360 version so I could get the Gears 3 beta as well. :D
I didn't have fun because I just jumped into multi and didn't know what I was doing.
Then I played some more with my kid and a couple of randoms, and figured out what was what.
Kinda disappointed that co-op didn't mean campaign co-op, but that's my fault for not really paying attention to anything about the game.
How does just killing wave after wave of guys in tiny arenas not get boring?
Gotta rack up those points nigga.
Have you seen my gamer score? Points aren't a big deal to me.
I didn't mean gamerscore, although yours have improved 1000x since the last time I saw it (I think you had ~500?). The way Cliff B. described it was kind of like a game of trickshot pool, looking for ways to earn the most points while killing guys in creative ways, and thus besting your friends on the leaderboards. I think that will drive a lot of people to keep playing and experimenting. Seems like a cool concept to me.
I know what you meant. I was using GS to illustrate how I don't tend to play for points or being impressive.
I'm completely and totally satisfied being able to play Rock Band at medium level only, for example.
fill in for jemery.
hay nick i'll write some reviews, send me free games imo
"This game sucks." Free game plz?
He would care more if the points were edible.
I had a ton of fun trying to kill guys in crazy ways last night. And getting the challenges in later waves becomes a bitch and requires a ton of team work. I don't really care about score based games, but the team aspect I do enjoy.
I was experimenting with some of the other guns you can buy and it might play a major role in getting more points. Just have to figure out how to use them effectively. With that triple barrel shotgun or whatever it is, I got a skill shot called topless, and then with some other gun got a crazy combo, but I don't know what the hell I did to get it. May try playing solo and just mess around with the other guns.
I know I will like this game because I was one of the 5 people who bought The Club at $60. I also got my money's worth. I'm just not spending $60 for this game + online pass + EA announcing DLC on release day. They can suck my balls for that shit. I'll get it for $30 max.
.
Exactly. As I stated, it's my fault for not paying attention to what it was.
This is so much fun.
It's exactly what no other FPS has delivered in forever: total no holds barred ass kicking. Fuck hiding behind shit and shooting dude behinds cover, this game fucking throws you on the sides of sky scrappers right off the bat and has you wiping dudes around and blowing their heads off in bloody explosions without any bullshit slowing you down.
Also Spike says what?
Just completed all 20 waves on Junkyard with DNG and Don Henley. Bacon was there up until the last stage and his shit went out him. We had a ton of trouble on wave 15. Took us forever, but once we got in the groove, we raped from then on. Game is a freaking blast.
This looks like Enslaved wanted to look.
Also it never gets old kicking people into walls. It's like gliding in Just Cause 2, it just always feels good.
$30 looks like the right price here.
I'd say rental so far, but who knows, maybe the echoes are actually cool. Doesn't sound like something I'd be into.
This is possibly the best game I've played in years. Great dialogue, interesting story for an FPS, tight controls mixed with fun game play and visuals/style that is really impressive. It doesn't hurt that every single level is well built and has something new and interesting in it.
Also at one point you walk into a room which SCREAMS boss fight and a boss type character will walk into the room and quickly kill himself. I have never seen that before, it was incredible.
$30 or rental is the right designation for this game. Not bad by any means but a bit of a disappointment so far. Has a MadWorld feel to it as well (the "variety" of killing and how old it can get, appeal quickly wears off).
It can't hang with Killzone 3, that's for certain.
I dumped hours into Anarchy last night, ended up getting the game + the GoW 3 Pack for less than MSRP of Bulletstorm itself through best buy. Money well spent, BUT ONLY if you want to play a score attack game.
I'm pretty surprised so many people are calling this a rental.
It's the best single player shooter experience I've had in years, maybe ever. I couldn't put it down.
The Echoes are great. It's like Mirror's Edge time trials were to its campaign, except in Bulletstorm, the main campaign is awesome too.
Drunk-ass statements imo, but I'll try to keep an open mind until I try it tonight.
I have to play the single player of this game.
"Bulletstorm is the Monster Cable of FPS games" - Opaque
They're talking about single player.
No one wants to play with you single player.
I'm just speaking in general.
Last single player campaign I played was Bad Company 2 (actually it was Black Ops, but I didn't bother to finish that crap). Before that? I honestly can't remember. Maybe Dead Space.
If it helps, it is the best FPS campaign I have ever played. So far there has not been a dull moment, and every chapter somehow tops the one before it.
I stand by them.
There really isn't anything that sticks out to me as being poorly done or even less than stellar. In almost every level there was intellegent and beautiful design, I spent more time admiring the vistas in this game than I did in Crysis; there's also so many little touches like hologram plants and detailed mini cities that aren't getting the credit they deserve.
There's a nice mix of distractions from normal play too, like shooting from helicpoters at giant monsters and controlling robotic godzillas with awesome names. The voice acting is really, really well done and the humor makes sense when you consider the types of people who are supposed to be saying it; ever hang out wih marines, that's how they really talk when they're off duty.
Also, I don't know if it's fair to call the single player campain a points based shooter, yes you get points for kills but it's more simlar to XP or money than anything else really. It's not as if the game ends and says you got 150,000 points and a C ranking, you spend them on things just like you might spend job points or experience points in other games. For Echoes yeah it's just straight points, but in single player it's the way you get new guns, upgrade them and keep them supplies with charge shots.
I mean really, and I don't say this lightly, over the course of 8 hours there wasn't a single line of dialogue, level, enemy, weapon or detail that didn't scream polish and I was never bored with repetition or felt like I was being given filler, which is somthing I can't say for Halo, GoW, Half Live, Bioshock, CoD or Battlefield.
It totally is.
I'd say it's a step up from MadWorld (even a big one), but yeah, at least part of the appeal is similar. You'll spend a lot of campaign playing around with different kills, even if they do start to get samey after a while. There's a bit more variety than MadWorld, though, partially because it's all wrapped up in an Uncharted/Gears/CoD gauntlet of cutscenes and scripted sequences that keep my attention better than MadWorld's boring everything ever could.Quote:

Now that I feel like I've seen most of the kills, I might do that, though people are telling me it's barely any different.
Yeah. And that's what I was interested in, mostly; the campaign. It's clearly what the developers focused the most on, too.Quote:

Bulletstorm isnt an A+ game but it sure as fuck is more fun than Killzone 3.
I haven't played the game yet, but I've read many impressions from people who said that, yea, the scoring system is neat and all but it's married to a pretty standard modern ultra-linear scripted rollercoaster FPS. It's weird that they went through the trouble of making a Call of Duty parody right before releasing a Call of Duty style FPS.
I expected crazier shit especially from People Can Fly. I wasn't crazy about Painkiller but attach a crazy scoring system to that game and I just might have been.
I totally forgot Gooch's obsession on Killzone. Gooch, did you declare a national holiday when K3 come out?
Gears Beta = Mid April.
man, I wish this campaign was half as good as vanquish was
Game of the month right here. End of Act 2 was amazing. Got the sniper rifle today, and steering the bullets into enemy's faces as they try to dodge is such a great feeling.
Looking forward to some more mp tonight, though I won't be on until a little after 10 central. Completed Junk Yard so looking forward to checking out some of the other levels.
I finished Vanquish yesterday, and started this game today, and while Vanquish was great, this is holding my interest much more. I agree it's nothing like CoD, it's a lot more fun. I'm not very far in the campaign but from what everyone has said so far its longer than the first game I mentioned and so far it's all sorts of good. I'll have to try the multi later, but with as much fun as it is single player (and seriously, co-op campaign would have been bomb), I can't see it being anything but fuckawesome with friends.
WHERE ARE MY TRADES?!
I ended up getting this for my $30 mark from a friend that didn't care for it. We'll see tonight!
It's certainly better than MadWorld and it's not a bad game by any stretch, but I would say for all the variety you allude to, it still gets somewhat repetitve in a quickly comparable way. It's also uglier and shallower than I expected. It's not bad, probably a B, maybe a B+, but it is moderately disappointing and I would not be able to recommend a purchase greater than $30 and side with those who are holding off for such or planning on going the rental route. This is not a Day One purchase (though that is essentially what I did) nor is something I would advocate one rush to pay full price for.
No, I expected a disappointment because of the standard Killzone 2 set and did not feel like prematurely partying. I do like K3 quite a bit, however, even if it does not feel as heavy as the prior installments (more of a mainstream accepted console FPS feel now). It is a terrific game nonetheless.
It's totally average if the average is a 9 or an A. I agree in that respect. I also appreciate the more confined combat along the lines of how I enjoyed Halo Reach's.
Wrapped this up on Hard today. It was actually a little easier than I expected. I'll probably slog though it on the hardest difficulty.
I really liked it! The game is truly designed for the Echoes and multiplayer though, something I plan on getting plenty of exposure to. The campaign makes up for it though with a large number of setpieces, segments you really can't duplicate with the echoes or multi.
I finished the first act. I'm with Gooch on this so far - but we have similar taste in fps.
I played just the first chapter today, but it is pretty awesome. The humor was totally misrepresented in the trailers, as it's much more sparse and better timed in context.
Serrano is hilarious, especially near the end. The foulness of what he shouts at you is just great.
Love it so far, but I'm stuck until they release a patch. Someone else made a video of the bug.
Edit: After playing through the chapter 3 more times, it finally let me through.
I bought this on a whim today. Its really fun, I'd say its the best single player campaign I've played through since Gears 1. The game is such a silly mess but its constantly throwing shit at you and keeps you entertained throughout.
Anarchy is a lot of fun! Mardin, Sam Sun and I were kicking ass until Wave 11 last night, we tapped out at 12. I swear it stopped recognizing team bonus kills for us for awhile there.
Finished the game tonight on normal and it was a lot of fun. I'll go through again on the hardest difficulty, I missed a lot of stuff. Missed destroying 3 news bots because I didn't realize they were a collectible early on and I screwed up the beer collection because I broke a few of them by accident (tried drinking them all). I didn't even get the achievement for getting 50% of the skill kills, thought I had most of them, but I guess not.
This is like Vanquish for Meat-Heads.
"Dude, he totally just made a dick sucking joke!"
"Tubular, bro!"
I'm on act 7. Is this almost over?
That's the last act. 2 chapters. Who the hell says tubular? This isn't California Games.
I'm playing on Very Hard. Is that it, or is there another unlockable difficulty beyond that? I'm at 25% of the skill shots at the beginning of Act 3, so hopefully I can at least get 50% on my first play through. I also know I missed at least one news bot. I heard it, went to see if it was in a building, and the damn door closed behind me.
Because only playing games you like isn't counter culture, maaaaaaaaaaaaannnn!
I missed the full Newsbot achievement by 1, because I heard it and thought it was around a corner, went around the corner and realized it was behind me but couldn't go back. I'll try it again on hard to try and clean up some more achievements, but Anarchy mode is pretty fun. If anyone is down later in the afternoon I want to try it some more.
That's fair. I play a chapter at a time and then peace out for a day or so.
Small correction on my part, I got the 50% skillshot achievement and never noticed it. I hit 75% while doing one of the Echos. Anyone sees me playing, I'm down for Anarchy.
Way to not wrap up anything, jerks.
Everything has to be a franchise...
I wouldn't worry too much about the story. I can't even remember what Gears is about. something about your mom
Well, it's not a great story, but ending it like that is just bad storytelling.
I can't even finish one act. I'm too lazy.
At Best Buy, I almost bought the PC version today until I saw the 360 Epic Edition sitting on the shelf. Maybe another time for the PC one.
I started on Normal and I'm now in the early part of Act 5. While I have a feeling it may end a bit sooner than I want it to (7 acts total?), it's one hell of a ride and the score system does seem like it would add some replayability. Two more chapters would be just fine with me.
A sniper rifle is cool enough on its own. But now, try it with guided bullets and the Bluff Skillshot. And then buy some charged rounds with explosive tips... Fuck yeah. Who needs RPGs? Three down at once.
Kicking enemies around into walls & hazards or down from a high place is a nice break from the shooting.
I started on the hardest difficulty. While it is not extremely challenging, there have been several parts I have to try over and over again. The story is good enough. I really like it. If it was a movie, the voice acting and characters are enough to drag me in. What this game does so well is that it never feels boring. Every firefight there are multiple ways to get through it. I plan on finishing the game tonight, but I look forward on playing through again on the easiest difficulty and working on all the skillshots. i also really love the MP. Been playing with Bacon and Necro and we have had some great times. I need to play with Razor (sorry about last night, but we won the playoffs in NHL).
Serrano has been one of the highlights in this game. Say what you will about Epic, but they have made some damn fine games this generation.
All he did was cuss.
That's it.
What kind of great character is that?
Icarus is right, the characters and dialogue are fucking terrible, a notch above transformers because of all the swear words. You don't play this game for the story though, you play it for the OH SHIIIIIIIIIIIIII
I feel sorry for you. It must be hard to be a tight wad, pussy limp, shit licker. The guy that did the voice was great. I'm sorry you couldn't enjoy the humor, but maybe that is your fault and not mine.
Oh to be a cry baby on the internet.
