The way Serrano fucked with Grayson was really well done, imo.

He's actually right most of the time, which makes it even more interesting. Yeah, Grayson was tricked into killing some innocent people by Serrano but did that give Grayson reason to kill thousands of innocent people on the ship just to try to get back at Serrano? The jokes and digging in Serrano does while they're going around the ship is just top notch in my opinion, and he screams like the drill Sergeant from Full Metal Jacket which means if you think his humor is bad you also hate good movies.

Because a third rate Sergeant Hartman rip off is a great character. As I said, I love the game anyway.

Just because people want better from the medium doesn't mean loud dumb blockbusters should be eliminated. Those put more butts in the seats in ANY medium, in the end.

Duke Nukem is one of gaming's most well-known characters, and this is very much following that thread. And obliterating it. Seriously, I can't see Duke Forever being anything but a big disappointment in comparison with what Bulletstorm has done.

Bulletstorm is the Hangover of movies, not the Citizen Kane, but that doesn't mean it's not a good time and well put together. Besides, you listen to terrible music and hate most entertaining movies/shows/games, why would we think if you as someone with good taste in the first place?

I used an existing $10 Amazon credit for Bulletstorm and used the $20 credit from BS on Killzone 3 (still got it despite same day application), then used that $20 credit on Epic Mickey. Calling most videogame stories "sub-par" is uncharacteristically forgiving of you, icarus.

Bulletstorm may not be Citizen Kane with guns, but it's the gameplay that means 85%. At least several games with good story fail hard when it comes to what really counts. A lot of BS's dialogue can be corny... but that's not a bad thing. What really matters in BS is the skillshot system, decimating a squad of enemies with ONE explosive sniper round, the Flail gun, etc.

I usually skip story sequences if possible on my 2nd or later playthroughs of a game. A few exceptions exist.

This holds up and the game is $5 on Steam.

I played about an hour tonight, I'll probably finish a full play through within a week because this game has no boring parts and is so easy to not put down.

I'm not an FPS fan, but I actually finished this, as opposed to the new Deus Ex, so that's worth something.

It was absolutely worth a playthrough for the awesome stuff that happens through the campaign. The MP, however, was beyond terrible.

The kill-scoring is a good thing, and it offsets the short campaign length if you're going for a higher grand total on the next playthrough. The sniper charge shot is the shit esp. when detonated into groups of several enemies.

An overly long campaign on some titles can cause the "Fuck it" factor to kick in or actually kill the replay value once you've finished the first time.

I am almost done with my second palythrough and its just as fun as the first time.

There is so much fucking polish in this game. I stop and stare and vistas more in this than any other game, the set pieces and style, not to mention colors, are fucking top notch. I cannot fathom how no one on my Steam list got this during the sale, its fucking incredible.

I got this pretty cheap for the 360, I love that it's unapologetically hardcore action and still manages to be really fun. I'm going through my first playthrough but I'm looking forward to playing it again with more upgrades and hopefully in co-op multi if it isn't a hayball ghost town.

Graphics look pretty darn sweet too.

On today's episode of Both GFWL and EA Suck, Bulletstorm has been pulled from Steam. I already own it, but I'll bet this is indicative of EA doing nothing to patch the game for continued playability after GFWL is finally shot. Contrast that with WB and 2K, who had the Arkham games and BioShock 2 updated with Steamworks integration, respectively.

Well, the Arkham games are massively popular while only about 5 people care about Bulletstorm.

Capcom is on the clock with several of their games, and Namco needs to do something about Dark Souls quickly as well. The fact that Rockstar hasn't done anything with GTAIV or announced GTAV at all is getting increasingly irritating.

It will be very disappointing if Dark Souls doesn't get upgraded. Capcom, blurgh. They are a lost cause.

As much as I love Bulletstorm, I don't see any publisher investing a single cent more into the game. It's amazing, it's maybe the best fps of the generation, it failed.

I'd be shocked if Capcom updated the older SFIV versions, because in a twisted way, that would be competing with themselves. But stuff like Dead Rising 2 and RE5 need to be addressed. I'm going to be pissed if Dark Souls isn't fixed, because it's not very old, and I haven't even had a chance (or at least taken one) to really dig into it yet.

It's a shame to lose the matchmaking, but I figure that as long as there's still multiplayer in some form it should be a lower priority than the games that would become single-player only. Lost Planet 2 has LAN play. If RE5 doesn't they need to get on it, game should probably only be played in co-op. DR2 has co-op too, right? SF4 always has local multiplayer, and I'm probably not going to care about playing pre-Ultra once Ultra comes out.

Bulletstorm really is the best game. As for DS, hopefully the sequel makes the first obsolete. I never got into the first (so maybe the second isn't for me), but it's a game I want to try to like and if there's no reason to play the first one first, then whatever.

But there will not be another Bulletstorm or The Club unless it comes from an indie (which surprises me, I would think this would be a subgenre indies would attempt to tackle more often since it requires creativity but not necessarily a huge content cost).

Signs point to DS getting updated. There's apparently steam activity on it according to that steamdb (or whatever) site.

The PC version myopically uses GFWL, which is going away this summer. Namco/From need to do something to keep it playable. That's what Tain was talking about.

Too bad, the game attempts to be "realistic". You can't just spam attack and there are consequence to every action/reaction. It is the complete opposite of games like God of War, and especially, Dynasty Warriors.

Once you get accustomed and learn to be cautious, you will discover an amazing game that is both fair and punishing.

The only clumsiness in Dark Souls is from actions that aren't maped to unique buttons, like kicking, leap attacks, and jumping. But other than that I think the controls are just fine.

The game still shows in my library. I played a bit but never really gave it the time it deserved. Anyone know if "pulled from Steam" means those who bought it lose their game, or if it just means you can't buy it any more?

Cool, it's not very long so you should be able to breeze through it.

Has lots of replay value though thanks to the scoring system.

I was checking through the game library I had on my old C2Q system, that I put back together earlier in the week. It still has BulletStorm on the HDD.

I don't actually mind GFWL, the messaging system is better than Steam.

When GFWL works it works fine but the problem is that DLC is a nightmare and a lot of people lost saves. It could've been a cool service but MS didn't even try.

Updates are also a nightmare.

I was thinking about picking up the Gears of War PC title that's at my local Walmart. I'd hate to start a game, only to have issues with save files.

I never had any issues with Bulletstorm's saves.

I think it was a big issue with Bioshock 2 and Batman.

Flatout: Ultimate Carnage, of all things, ate my saves when I rebuilt my computer.
