Nope, you can do straight cancels, like crouch mk -> super, it ain't easy though. Ken staple is crouch lk x3 into super, but that's more of a cancel glitch. Normal cancels are possible though, I do it with ryu, buffer that shit in.

Anthony beat me to it, but yeah cancels in ST and footies in sf4. My point was that one wasn't deeper than the other, and that they all have things that can do huge damage for comebacks. A super in ST does as much as an ultra in 4 does as much as a super cancel in SF3, what exactly is the difference? In anticipation of the "BUT YOU EARN SUPER" shit you can earn ultras too by just focusing doesn't have to be by getting slaughtered.
