Got my astral ring on charlotte. Yeah Astral Ring/Skull Ring Charlotte is disgusting. Beat Drac on Hard now I just need to 4 more Hellfires on her (which I've decided is the absolute worst spell to farm, even worse than heal was) and I've got her max level. Also have 530,000 gold now so I'll probably just farm Hard 6 till I get to the 1 mil mark for the achievement then I can buy the awesome rings for the other characters and start building em up.

If my experience of playing the demo is reflective of what the full game is like, I'd say no.
I would be up for some games later on; some of this grinding with Charlotte is getting soul-crushing at this point (and I was doing some research about trying to get Hellfire... fuck that!). Still need to get the achievement for killing a charmed player, too.

I started up a Jonathan while I was waiting for the dishwasher to finish before heading over to Vasteel's. The game is better than expected and original advertised. I don't think the reviewers get it; I don't know why this surprises me.
Reviewers were looking for SoTN, but couldn't accept a XBLA Multiplayer diablo style game.
Yeah I saw the reviewers queefing over the game; gotta know what you're getting into. Single player sucks, it's easy to get into a multiplayer match even if it's not with friends, proceed to steamroll.
OH, and people are fucking stupid at Dracula. We'll get there with a party of 5, they'll all die by phase 3 and KEEP LUNGING at him with skeletons. Then they wonder why they run out of time.
Ready for a game or two tomorrow night or Wed. Main Soma, Alucard, Johnothan, Shanoa. Not so much with the Charlotte. Im kinda new and havnt beaten level 4.
Is this game too easy with say 4 people or more - or does the difficulty scale up with more players?
Diablo's minions do strenthen.
Also, see above about bosses. When you die, you turn into a skeleton. Die as a skelly and it knocks 3 minutes off your time limit. Cue people dying incessantly. It's an artificial difficulty booster mostly, because players are often trapped in the boss room when they die.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but players don't collect any loot as a skeleton. So, assuming all Waters of Life have been used, there's no reason, outside of politeness towards the other players, for a skeleton to be invested in whether or not a boss is defeated.Quote:

Is there a site that lists what drops from what?
I haven't played it a lot but Castlevania HD doesn't feel like a Metroidvania in the slightest. No XP grinding, no finding items or abilities to reach other areas of the map, the whole map is visible from the onset, etc. It's more like a weird MP Castlevania/Diablo hybrid where each character levels in a different way, drops and chests are just the surface of secrets on each map and the fun is in being able to run the maps in one go.Quote:

Yep, I've quickly discovered that playing with groups of all japanese people works best. They play well, they're courteous and shit runs smooth as butter. Trying to play with random american idiots always ends badly.
I'm glad I ignored the SSF4 invites today, was playing with John and a Valmanay or whatever dropped off hard Drac. Doesn't seem that awesome, especially after seeing Necro's Alucard running around with dual Ch. 5 swords.
I still need to get the Boned achievement if any of you assholes ever play. I got John so I'll need four more =[ It takes like 2 minutes!
Get two valamanay's, then it's crazy good (I only ever got one myself before I quit playing).

Good games this week so far Mzos and Niner. Finally got a valamanway off Dracula right after we disbanded last night.
Still need a couple of achievements, Kill a Boss with a Dual Crush and Kill an enamored biatch.

Two nights ago John read about some dude who had killed Dracula like 500 times and didn't have shit-all to show for it until he and his friend began to disband and create new teams after every kill. Suddenly all the shit he wanted dropped, as if there was some unusually high chance for rares to drop on first attempts.
I'm not saying this works, but when we tried it we got, between the two of us, 5 star items every restart for a really long streak. Some were repeats, but shit: 3 Invincible mails, 2 Valmanways (1 each so our Somas now both have dual Vals!), foie gras (lol 5 star food), and Winged Boots along with some trash. By the end we weren't getting shit so we stopped for the night, but still. I know random shit is random and all that, but for both of us to suddenly get better loot in one night than in nearly every other night combined, split up between the two of us (maybe dependent on who made the room?) is almost too strong to ignore.
May have been a fluke but it was awesome!
I will get everything in this fucking game one day.
