Good stuff last night Mzo and John. Ended up yesterday w/ Nebula, Chaos Ring, Alucard Sword, Gungner and...
After you guys left, tried the tip above about 1st round drops, but with single player. Select Chapter, Select Character, Back out to main menu, select single player mode, start game. Did this each time after a round ended.
Hit Dracula up a few times with Soma and got Foie Gras, Foie Gras, Foie Gras (more damn 5* food, 3 times in a row). Then went to hunt some Yorick souls 2 rounds and got Thief Ring, Thief Ring from Puppet Master.
Figured these drops all couldnt be a coincidence, so... then Dracula again a couple of times before bed and scored Impervious Mail, Impervious Mail. On what was going to be my final run for the night, and FINALLY after 205 Drac Kills - Winged Boots!
So either thats some crazy luck (6 X 5* and 2 X 4* in 8 rounds), or the 1st run theory holds true again.

Yeah, the three of us did it again last night and ended up with dracula's tunic, claimh solaisx3, a bunch of Dracula souls and like 6 foie gras at least. There is something to restarting games, no question. Wish we understood the system so we could better exploit it.
After damn near 200 Menace kills I jumped on yesterday and finally got a Chaos Ring after only a few kills. Luckily I was crazy enough to keep going for two so soon after my victory because it dropped again one kill later.

It runs quick with two people once you figure out the secret floor switches.
I really like how the level and the boss is a huge fuck you to everything people have built up in the last game. Shanoa really shines here!

I'm way late to the party with this game, but ended up liking it quite a bit. Shanoa really got jacked for skills, but at they're all useful. If anyone wants/needs to set up a survival room for Shanoa/Johnathan grinding, I'd be up for that. Or just playing in general, but my guys aren't quite up to the mindless speed-run level yet.
I did buy the extra level...having already spent so much time with the game, it seemed like a good investment for variety. Unfortunately, it's not the cost that bothered me, but that it's sort of a crappy, ugly, lazy level. Did drop me some winged boots though.

Same here. I didn't pay $5 more for this game than it was worth just to pay $30 for features that should have been included from the beginning.
Eh, I've played this $15 game far more than most $60 games, so I'd say it's value. And if any of the DLC called to me I wouldn't hesitate to pick it up. But I've heard the map is sub-par and now the characters won't even show up on your friends game. Half the joy of using Maria would be friends seeing a little blond girl kick arse.

Local multi would work out terribly. Unless you have a 40" plus screen and played zoomed out all the way, it would almost be worthless. Playing with randoms online usually weilds one person who is decent, one person who is decent due to overpowered weapons, and then 3-4 fucktards who drag the rest of the team down unless the two powerful people speedrun to the boss.

Is there an online guide for this somewhere? I got this during the sale, but other than playing through the first 2 levels with Jonathan, I don't really know what I'm doing. I've just been collecting what seems like the same items over and over, and playing level 1 till I could beat the boss, then going to level 2, etc. (which I still haven't beat) I tried playing online, but it seems people either just stand there or run through and kill the boss in like 1 minute, which I don't see the point then of playing with random people...
Yeah, online is all speedruns. You still get the items if you're in the party, you don't have to kill Dracula.
