Depends on what you don't like about JRPGs. It's essentially a streamlined version of PS1 era Final Fantasies, except the stories are actually decent. There's a bit too much gear management, but I find it a lot of fun to play, and if you care about content, it's 40+ hours to do everything.
The shitty thing about it is that every story reuses the same areas and bosses and such, which gets a bit monotonous. But yeah, decent Jrpg if you like Jrpgs. If you don't you probably won't like it.
The fact that the stuff carries over makes going through those dungeons again not too bad though. It could have been better, but that would have taken more time and money for Square's experiment with this.
Ketsui. . . but any other month it would have been ABC or SSFIV.
