Need Some MTG Rules Help
Yeah so been playing this again -- haven't played it since revised/4th so a lot has changed. n e way --
If I have an artifact for instance that says "tap and sacrifice an artifact to do so and so" -- can I actually use the artifact that I tapped as the sacrifice ? or does the effect die as soon as the card is gone (i.e. I need to choose a different artifact)... ? We been arguing about this and I'm not sure what the official current answer is... can someone cite me to the proper answer ... I think it's valid to do so and always have... but maybe I'm wrong...

Yeah, it's outta play once it hits the grave, so the effect never completes itself, you're wrong, it's the same as if I played something that sent it to your grave after the sac, but before the "effect," and my card resolves first on the stack.
