will that work on my MAC???:D
dammit...bought the ATI Radeon 128M card 2 months ago and it wouldnt boot up in my system. took it back and got the Xtasy 64M Geforce 3. happy with my card so far, but typical falling pc hardware prices always makes you wish you waited a bit more :( still after the rebate my card was less than $90 so it's not that heartbreaking.
i dont think so. no mention of mac os anywhere.Quote:

System Requirements
• 250W power supply or greater
• IBM PC or 100% Compatible
• 266 MHz or higher CPU (AMD K6-2
or Intel Pentium II or higher)
• AGP 2.0 Compliant Socket
• CD ROM drive
• Windows 95 OSR2, 98, ME, NT 4.0, 2000, XP
• 64MB of RAM
I'm waiting for a 4600 with 256 DDR RAM. Otherwise I'd snatch that up in a second.
With Warcraft 3 arriving on my doorstep any day now, it would be nice to have a new 3D card... but I'd like one with TV out... hate watching movies on my monitor...
This card has S-Video and TV out. I called another BB and they have some in, I'll go tomorrow and snag one (it's a bit of a drive)...they better still be there. Oh, you get a 10 doller gift card when you buy it too. $10 card + $5 dollar coupon + Warcraft III= some serious savings. Plus I think you get a $10 gift card for buying WCIII. Sweet sweet savings.
Thanks for the heads - up !!Quote:

The only thing that taunts me currently about video cards are the comments that Romero said regarding Doom III, where he could only talk about cards currently out in terms of their power in running Doom III, but he also knew of more powerful cards that they tested with it, but couldn't talk about due to NDAs. I want to know about those cards...
well spank my ass and call me charlie, just what i'm looking for. i think.
i'm not a heavy pc gamer. tell me, what makes this worth $180? is it just for gaming? or will it have an overall great affect on my new computer?
whats so great about it? well it's probably the fastest card available on the market... and when a card is the fastest possible, it usually retails for about 300 dollars...
and the card would probably only have a recognizable effect on games
Naw, the Ti4600 is faster. I don't believe a 256 version is out yet, but if not then it's sure to come fairly soon (which just might explain the sale).Quote:

Shinobi: If you aren't playing PC games, then it won't do you much good. If you're video/audio editing, more regular RAM will help more then a video card will, but if you're into games then this puppy will kick some major ass.
is 512mb of ram enough? :pQuote:

well, i have a few games. star craft, dark colony, strife, anarchy online (haven't tried it yet), and shogo. i'd like play some stuff like alice, battle realms, and doom 3 in the future.
Alice and Battle Realms aren't too system intensive (can you run Quake III well?), but Doom III will definately be, and that card will help massively towards that. However, the price for it will probably also have dropped majorly by the time Doom III comes out, so I'd say wait for it, and just save up/buy some other games you've been after lately.
Of course, when full-on wars break out in Battle Realms it's easily possible to have a massive system hit. When playing that on LAN, we had to have some people with less powerful computers simply not look at the battle or it would slow down the whole group.
What other games are you looking at picking up? Max Payne is gorgeous when running at full tilt, as is WarCraft III. Oh, and what card are you running now?
That reminds me, where's NeoZeedeater? I remember he needed a new video card...
i'd get max payne for xbox. warcraft iii isn't really my bag.Quote:

my current computer is store bought. (hp) i never put a high-end graphics card in it because i didn't really buy it for gaming. i haven't put my new comp together yet. i'm still waiting for the rest of my parts. i've been holding off much pc gaming till i get my new comp set up. i'll think about it... i suppose it's a deal you can't refuse.
Heh, but Battle Realms is? The last time I played BR the latest patch kind of screwed it up. What once was pretty slow and had balanced units turned into a rush-fest of lesser troops.Quote:
