It got pretty good after Alexandria IMO. The competing factions territory they've highlighted is more interesting than zombie-ninja hordes chasing them everywhere. The issue with this series is the silly twists and manipulation. After Glenn fake-died last season you got the impression that instead of interesting writing they wanted to set up swerves to keep viewers on their toes. I don't think that works after the audience becomes aware. You get too meta and start ruining shit (the Glenn fake-out death was absolute rubbish).
With the Blu-ray version of S6's final episode letting Negan cut loose with F-bombs, I'd bet S7 will follow suit in at least a few scenes. What has Scott Gimple got to say?
Jeffrey Dean Morgan's performance as Negan is spot-on, even if his language had to be toned down to please the advertisers/FCC. At least an uncensored cut will come.Quote:

I just caught up. Did they really have to show brain damaged Glenn mumbling to Maggie like that? I'm not sure what the point was... I thought it was lol'able in an otherwise pretty terrific moment. I'm actually going to miss Abraham more than Glenn.
Negan is the greatest. I'd for sure work for that guy.
Pretty weak so far, IMHO.
I imagine a man who crushes people's heads in with a barbed bat would swear with reckless abandon.
