You can stop acting like an episode that had yet to be aired at the time of your comments somehow vindicates the stupidity of what you said about the first two episodes - which were both great, great episodes.

My expectations are always low with zombie-themed stuff, and I have never read the comic, so I wasn't disappointed with this. I thought they would pull some major cliffhanger for the finale. I'm surprised TNL is giving this show more attention than The Event, though.
The first episode was the best of the season by a mile. And thats the one that you and your 25 friends decided was boring.
You're an idiot. Stop trying to rewrite history.
I thought episode was good on the whole.
As a side note Frank Darabont wrote episodes 1,2 and 6. The first two of those had a scene or two I didn't like and the final one was, well, horrible. He worked with 4 other people on episode 3, which explains why it was getting better and then he had nothing to do with episodes 4 and 5, which I loved and thought were the closest to perfect. My only "complaint" was more about how the vatos were stupid, but even Rich thought that after he found out what they were up to, so that was kind of the point.
I have little doubt that there's not a connection there. The only things I've thought were bad were written by him, and the episodes I have nothing negative to say about were not touched by him. Defend episodes 1 and 2 as being perfect all you want, but the asshole who ruined the finally wrote them too.
I'm hoping that finding a cure isn't a recurring theme, I started reading the comic after watching the show and I'm hooked. One of the things that makes it great is that it has nothing to do with trying to stop what's happening, it's all about people coping and surviving. And the fact that Kirkman hasn't even hinted at a cause is just fine by me. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure a lot of people complain if they didn't take the time to give some kind of explanation as to what's going on, although anyone who's watched a single zombie flick could have told you why the dead are walking around.
Hopefully that episode is to get that out of the way and the show will follow the comic more closely. The one thing that I wonder about is pacing. I think they left the camp around issue 8, in the show it was episode 5. If they keep on that pace it will be season 3 or 4 before they run into the Governor, which is probably my favorite arc Assuming they even use that story. If they don't I may have to organize a mob to sack the writers
I just started episode 5, so I have not been reading the later parts of this thread. I have to say I loved this show till the camp showed up. The camp parts are so fucking ponderous and boring. I was happy when they finally got attacked, but dammit they are staying in the camp! How stupid is that? It's not like being surrounded by trees is a good idea. The rest is still good.
