This was the case in the graphic novel (that inspired this show) as well.

I just read that in the reviews last night. It's weird to me. Whatever. It was still an awesome episode.
Easily the best episode of the season. I have no complaints.
Too bad Shane had to die and not Rick.
This never happened in the show before. Shane had said something to Rick about the two cops they found at the school not having any bites and since then it's seemed like they've been coming back from natural deaths.
Edit: I was also surprised that they didn't kill of Shane in the final episode. I was happy that Rick seemed to be taking the stupid peace maker route (which was clearly never going to work with Shane at this point) and deceived Shane into dropping his guard so he could kill him. I thought it was appropriate that he grieved for Shane after he killed him because they had still been best friends. It was also neat how they had Carl kill zombie Shane as sort of an homage to the comics. The next episode looks to be pretty intense. I had a dream about it where I was at my grandparents house defending it from a horde of zombies and their dog let them in the front door.
Yeah, that's when they started to seed the idea on the show, but they've never actually seen it happen. Everyone has either been bitten and turned, eaten entirely or shot in the head. Randy in the woods with Glen and Daryl was the first time anyone saw it.
Is no one in that stupid house watching Carl? You'd think being on lockdown someone would keep an eye on the only kid.
Michonne is in next weeks episode
ohhhhh shit
I would watch that.
No idea who that is but looking forward to it.
Carl just goes wherever the fuck he wants. Now they gave him a gun. WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!
