It's a port of the iPhone/iPad Super Monkey Ball 2, which was an original game, not a port of any existing SMB games.
It seems kind of on the easy side, but if you love Monkey Ball, it's a full-fledged Monkey Ball on your phone. The physics have been ported over perfectly, the music is great, and the tilt controls feel really intuitive (even though getting good with them takes some practice). Lots of content, more levels than the old GameCube games. Graphics aren't really cutting edge since it's 2 years old but it's still nice to look at. Well worth $3.
After a night full of reflashing and cursing, I finally have Android 4.0.4 up and running on my Galaxy S1, overclocked to 1500 Mhz and this thing FLIES! I recommend 4.0 to anyone who can get/flash it.
Yeah, ICS lives up to the hype.
I realized yesterday that a lot of games I really want on my phone are avaialable on Japanese Androids but not ours, including Katamari Damacy, Super Monkey Ball 1, Disgaea, Dodonpachi Resurrection, Espgaluda II, King of Fighters, Final Fantasy III and Shantae: Risky's Revenge (wtf, that game's not even Japanese). Efforts to find apks to just install them directly proved fruitless and it seems like it might be more complicated than that. Pain in the nuts.
I eventually found an easy(ish) way to get Katamari. It wasn't really worth it though, it's an incredibly short game and the controls aren't as good as I'd like. The others will probably involve editing my build.prop so my phone reports as its Japanese equivalent and carrier, and I'm not sure if I even care enough to actually do that.
I thought Monkey Ball was at least on Android.
The second one is, yes.
Frog - check out the market militia forums. They usually have some workarounds to get games working with the help of titanium backup and some patience.
ICS just officially came to my Acer Iconia a500 yesterday... so far I don't see anything different except the font.
What version did you upgrade from? I find it hard to believe there wasn't a big enough difference for you to notice besides the font.
Whatever it was before, I think 3.2.x.... You have to realize that Acer took so long because they wanted to change it to be "their way." I used it some more and it still feels the same except said font and the menu "button" looking different. Scrolling through apps is slightly different too.
I haven't gotten the ICS update for my Acer a100 yet. It probably won't be for a while, as it seems I've been getting updates really late. Just a week ago my Android Market finally updated itself to Google Play.
I have an ICS custom ROM on my gTab right now, so I'm not too anxious.
