What I'm wondering is why the hell isn't the touch screen on the 3DS multi-touch? Too technically advanced for Nintendo?
Also got Ridge Racer 3D and the 3D effect is like staring into an animated viewfinder, which is neat (but not OMGWTF mindblowing). The game itself is Ridge Racer, which is OK, since I like the series. Why the hell the game has no online functionality (even if to just share times and data over the Internet) is beyond me, though.
Yeah, the game feels rushed. The hideous menu design just screams "placeholder." What's up with 5-10 second save/load times between events? Hope that's not what we can expect going forward with 3DS games. Like you said, it's Ridge Racer, so still rather fun. But I'd sure as hell never have bought this thing if launch hadn't been so dry.
The announcer lady needs to talk more.
Oh, also, I like the breakbeat that drops in during support item selection!
[Edit]: One troubling thing: I walked around a bit with the system yesterday. When I opened it up next I noticed some marks on the upper screen that line up with the raised bezels of the lower screen. Apparently they touch when the system is closed? That's some god-awful design. I'll get protectors for both screens I guess, but what the hell.

I've added everyone already
You're 8/8 wrong about that.
I don't have any 3DS games yet, but the system seems pretty rad so far.
Fun interface, 3D is neat enough, though I'll have to wait to see how well it's taken advantage of.
I didn't know about Etrian Odyessy being announced already! That is awesome, I loved the first game (and have the second two sitting on the shelf waiting for me) so that is good stuff.
DS was awesome so I have high hopes for the 3DS.
Anyone tried Steel Diver? Heard it's really short but the 2.5 portions look decent to try after a price drop.
