I'm just sad to see that when the DSi Ware hit, a significant drop in quality/quantity hit Wii VC. So I'd only guess that Wii VC will be nonexistent and DSi all but ignored when 3DS gets its shop.
WTG Nintendo.

They can't be bothered to release games that they can just slap up there with no changes. The chances of seeing more than a small handful of games released with 3D added is slim to none if you go by their track record.
When I heard about this feature the thought of the possibilities was exciting. The reality of what it will become is a much less exiting thought. I would love to be wrong about this but I doubt I will.
I'm setting my sights lower. I really like the Wii VC, except for its obvious omissions like YOSHI'S ISLAND. So what I want is to be able to get stuff like Metroid II, Operation C, Nemesis, the two GB Castlevanias, Shining Force: The Sword of Hajya, Power Strike II, Shantae, etc. on there.
I understand what you mean here but I think this is different. The Wii VC required next to nothing new content wise with the exception of digital instructions and they still can't be bothered with a steady stream of releases. Nintendo, more than any other company, uses big and amazing ideas to sell a shit ton of systems and never does anything with those ideas again. The concept of the VC on the Wii and 3DS is fantastic. The reality of what they are/will become is a fucking joke.
This is the only logical thought process really. The fact that the Wii has been out for like 5 years and we still don't have all of the major games that are made just by Nintendo available on the VC shows how unrealistic even that thought process is though. The fact that I still can't get Contra: Hard Corps, Excitebike 64 (my all time favorite racing game), Yoshi's Island, etc... is fucking pathetic.
I want Metroid 2 in THREE DEES
While I will not argue against this, some radical stuff HAS come from the VC like localized Japanese releases (S&P, Dracula X, etc.) so I'm at least hopeful that even though Nintendo will drop the ball (and they're not the only ones dropping balls, look at how long it took to get Xenogears and VS on PSN). I don't really understand what is so hard about putting out these DLC titles; it looks like printing fucking money to me.
Anyone try out Bust-A-Move on the 3DS yet? I'm guessing it doesn't have an online mode...
I've only read the last few pages, but I did try Kid Icarus and the Resident Evil Mercs game at PAX East. Kid Icarus was pretty rad, even though using the nub and stylus together hurt my hand (Felt like the edge was digging into my palm, but maybe if it wasn't tied down that wouldn't have been a problem) and Resident Evil Mercs blew me away, which I wasn't expecting.
I'm really trying to hold out on this thing until something I really want hits, like Mario Kart or Paper Mario. I'll probably cave in with, ahem, Cave Story, though.
