3D Classic Xevious available now!
The 3D effect works really well. I can't wait to see a more modern 3D scrolling shooter attempt.

TwinBee plz.
I tried the new RE game at Comic Con and it wasn't too shabby. Much more paced akin to the old RE games - I had to run more often than not because taking on more than one enemy is suicide and ammo is sparse.
That said, I also like what they did with the 3D. Between it and Ocarina, I'm seeing how the effect adds extra clarity (given that you are in the viewing sweet spot). However it still doesn't justify the high price, short battery, or show any hints of what 3D displays can do gaming-wise that a traditional display cannot.
For like the 10th time, 3D is to video what surround sound is to audio. If you'd argue there is no benefit to surround sound either, I can't help you.
Maybe he means gameplay. I'm sure Nintendo will force some stupid, gimmicky bullshit into something, and he'll applaud the shit out of it.
Or maybe he is totally retarded (HITR)
I hope that "maybe" is only a result of a lack of statistical significance.
With surround sound, you can hear something behind you. This adds a functional benefit to gameplay.
With 3D display by itself, you get a nice diorama effect, which is nice but doesn't really alter gameplay in any significant way.
Now combine a 3D display with a gyroscope for handheld displays or head-tracking for television displays and you're starting to get somewhere... there's just not a lot of that yet.
This guy's stuff is still better in practice than any stereoscopic screen bullshit I've seen yet, at 1/100th of the cost.

Combining the two technologies might really be something.
