My first impression is that I don't really ever want to play FF1 NES again, but it looks like it's more of a port of the PSP game. I am intrigued, other than some questionable choices in artwork I liked that version.

The New 3DS was at TGS, and the impressions from IGN are very positive. These are the most important parts to me:

Today at the Tokyo Game Show in Japan, not only did I spend 30 minutes going hands on with the New 3DS LL (3DS XL in the west) and its funny-looking little second analog stick, but I didn't want to stop fiddling with it. I found myself controlling the camera in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate with the little C-stick constantly. Not because I had to, mind you, but because it just felt so nice. It's rubbery, soft, and inviting. I kept sliding my thumb above the X button and giving it gentle little nudges and pushes just to see the camera move around. It felt awesome, and I loved using it.

The 3D effect is better. Way better. That blinding, jittery flicker that current 3DS users are used to seeing every time they move the handheld with the 3D slider up is mostly gone. I guesstimated around a 45 degree tilt in any direction before the 3D effect “broke” for me. That made me want to play with the 3D slider up the entire time, which is a good thing to want, considering Nintendo is doubling down on people wanting to play games in 3D while companies like Sony are abandoning them.
Origins, gba collection, and psp remake make this a big meh of an announcement.
New games are hard, SSJN.
No, they're expensive and the games industry is garbage right now and that's why everyone is releasing 2 year old games on the new hardware instead of new games and no one seems to be noticing it.
I don't see the problem with subsidizing new development with remakes, re-releases, and remasters if they sell. October is going to be the strongest release month in a long time, and they're all new games. Plus, 2015 is going to be amazing from start to finish it appears.
I guess I will have to wait for Rocca's thread to be reminded of all the dazzling new IP coming out in October.
I hate myself a little.
