Yeah, and I'm probably going to buy the Green Lantern expansion as well since I'd end up wanting that anyway. It's the only real content being offered for cash money.
Just got my PS3 back for Arkham City, might as well jump on this too since I prooooomised~
Put like an hour or two into this on the PS3. Made a Superman-style (ice powers? I GUESS DC, I GUESS) smallest size possible girl superhero called Beat Girl. I have B on my chest.
The flying around is almost awesome. Very close to awesome. The whole game is almost awesome, but just a bit too clunky and janky.
How does this play on PS3? And has anyone tried to double-dip on Steam achievements and PSN trophies?
After being used to a fully customized UI from years of WoW, I think this is some horrible caveman shit. But it's probably ok.
Dammit, now you're going to make me install the PS3 version too. I don't know why they separated the servers by platform, it's kind of annoying. The same way it does on PC? You played the beta and it hasn't really changed in any significant way since then, aside from being less buggy.
Oh whoops, I thought you had the PS3 version =[
Either way it ends up on my TV, it was just easier to click install instead of turning on the PS3 first. I'm lazy like that.
Trying to play FFXI on the PC was a fiasco for me, so I assumed this would be better on the PS3 from the start.
They both pretty much work the same way, which is that you either plug in a controller and accept it or hate life trying to figure out why it doesn't work like every other game released on the PC.
I don't think so. :p
I've had my character fall through the floor, get stuck on the environment, and the whole game just lock up while flying for no reason. It wouldn't surprise me if they just made the PS3 beta the free version, because this is some unfinished, glitchy shit right here.
And trophies only work if you pay the monthly fee, something I might be inclined to do if it didn't take 10 minutes to connect every time, I didn't get disconnected CONSTANTLY, and the game wasn't so fucking buggy. As it is, I try to justify not deleting this POS every time I boot up my PS3.
One of the reasons I stopped playing before my free month was up was the frustration in losing certain timed trials because the collision detection was so god awful.
Melf: that's less buggy than the beta. I had parts of my inventory rendered completely unusable from half-implemented items, had to fight things that weren't there, battled teleporting bosses, had raids reset, and had the issues you listed too.
Damn, it sounds like this has been a glitchfest since day 1. Shame too, since I really like the concept.
I fought some huge elite solo that was supposed to take a group of four by getting him stuck on a lightpole and then doing ranged attacks for like five minutes. It was pretty epic.
Sounds like it's an MMO That Is Not Warcraft.
I left the Metropolis Police Station and immediately fell through the floor. At least I could teleport up to the Watchtower so that was cool.
I am a huge DC buff an I doubt I would ever spend a thin dime on this unless they polished it up a hell of a lot.
I need someone to kill Scarecrow with, so if anyone feels like doing that, let me know.
If anyone is playing on PC, I'm Yossy (shocking I know) on the PvE server. I'm an acrobat with a bow mentored by Batman, because rich white men have the best super powers.
I put another hour into this, this game is just such a piece of shit. MMOs are such a terrible genre, and this hits all the tropes and pitfalls one after the next. Janky characters teleporting around, shitty animations, crap controls, bad production values and bugs bugs bugs. Maybe in 5 years it'll be worth a shit, but I doubt it sticks around that long.
I think one of the first quests had wording to the effect of "The Flash has gone to find out where Grodd's secret base is at."
And that was from Oracle. Where the base is at? I almost died from embarrassment for them.
Tell me when you put this shit on, I've only fired it up a couple times.
I also remembered why no one should ever pick movement besides flying: super-speed and acrobatics are as bad as inFamous when it comes to uncontrollably sticking to everything you're trying to get around.
Here it is.
Sunday nights!
Thread: revived (at least for 5 minutes)
Mentor: Batman. User name: Greynade.
Srsly, I need someone to play with after midnight. I work late and get bored. Insert witty dick joke.
Beat Girl mentors under Superman, I haven't even been to Gotham yet.
I wanted to make the tiniest girl character with super strength and Supes was the closest to that. Not a fan of ice abilities, though, wtf. That seems like a weird association based only on ice breath.
i have a free second character, i can make a little superman dude. you haven't ventured out on various missions to other cities? batman takes you to metropolis pretty early on in the game... hmm. gotham is a very dreary, dark, place - it's never day time there ;)
*edit*
also, i want to make a second character so i can really fix the bugs that i picked the 1st time. i really want some kind of healing ability with my next one.
I did like one quest chain for the Flash and fought Gorilla Grodd, I've put like no time into this. I'd be willing to relocate to wherever, not a big deal.
Relocating is a good thing because you then get to do all the lower level quests for that area and ensures that no grinding will ever happen. At least, that's how beta went.
Also, the PS3 version seems buggier than the PC version. Not sure if that's just random chance on my part.
95% installed...we'll see...
