System requirements is one way of putting it, but it was that they couldn't pull off having people believable animate and react so they just had zombies.

I should grab Bioshock 2 at some point and knock that out. It goes on sale for $5 often enough that I'm surprised I don't already own it.

I don't own Bioshock 2 just because I thought the first one was plodding with terrible combat, but a great setting.

I guess Bioshock 2 has better combat and pacing though?

It's a better gamey game I think, although the story seems kind of tacked on. And that DLC is supposedly REALLY GOOD but I haven't tried it.

It's hard to get big new releases at Red Box around here, but I showed up as the Red Box man was cracking the machine to get my copy. Score!

I'll buy the PC version when it's $10 on Steam next fall or Xmas when I have a better video card. For now, I'm happy to scratch the itch with a rented Xbox version that I'll probably pay $6 to play.

It's Bioshock in the sense that Bioshock is a System Shock game. Which is to say, the connections are obvious, but they're more to do with broad thematic parallels and gameplay mechanics than anything more direct. The ways it's similar are obvious, but the ways it's different are just as striking.

That's how I felt, but I also thought the setting was kind of overbearing. Regardless, if I recall Diff likes it and he also doesn't think the first is all that, so I figure it's worth at least trying for that price.

I never played Bioshock 2, just because I didn't feel there was anything about the game that called for a sequel. I liked Bioshock a lot, but it told its story and there was no need to revisit Rapture.

Bioshock 2 was dam good fun.

Yeah Diff's recommendation is the main reason why I've decided to maybe give Bioshock 2 a try.

I haven't beaten the first one yet so I'll have to get back to it but I did enjoy it's creepy atmosphere a lot.

Good game so far. 10/10? Upper 90s? I'm not feeling it so far.
