I feel subtitles take me out of the game so I disable them. Plus they usually spoil things seconds ahead of time and I hate that.

Finished it! I'm happy I made it to the end spoiler free! What a great game, but a few things keep it from perfect for me. Where are all the boss fights? I got really really sick of constantly scavenging and checking for items. I spent more time checking desks and trash cans for money than doing anything else. Sometimes the game felt like a shitty Disney ride where you pull up next to an animatronic person, it gives its little speech, stops, and then you move onto the next one. The beginning of the game really felt like that. The secondary powers of the vigors are all mines, lame.
That seems like a lot of bitching, but I really liked this game a lot. Elizabeth is awesome. Best AI companion ever. The setting and sound is fantastic.
Doesn't quite nudge out Tomb Raider for being my favorite game so far this year.
I'm at Finkton, near the gunsmith, no idea how much farther I have to go.
Bioshock Infinite is the work of a developer unafraid to make bold design choices. For example: there is no penalty for falling. Even on 1999 mode. This simple choice has a huge impact -- and a very positive one, in my opinion -- on gameplay.
Another interesting choice they made is the near-complete inability of Booker to interact with other characters, except at key story points. All interactions are context-based. This has the side effect of making interactions seem like a Disney animatronic ride, as SamuraiMoogle pointed out. But it also makes for some incredibly intense story moments.
The best use of context-based interaction I've seen so far is in Battleship Bay. Right after you first meet up with Elizabeth.

You walk through the ticket booth, and suddenly everyone's demeanor changes. You run into Esther, who recognizes Elizabeth and has a bizarre, cryptic conversation with her. After you walk up the stairs, the citizens -- who are Comstock agents in disguise -- try to act casual, but do a terrible job of it. One guy pretends to get his shoe shined; another pretends to order sauerkraut and has a terrible time making up dialogue. It's a brilliantly tense moment, made more so by contextual interaction.
I sat on the Bioshock preorder game code and now that I want to use it to get the in game items, I can't. I am so sick and tired of these preorder and exclusive retailer things, seriously, worst thing of this generation by far
Oh, second. Motion control, bleh
I'm pretty sure I got this one spoiled for me reading the QT3 comments section. I wasn't planning on playing it anytime soon but that is pretty rude.
So don't go there if you haven't beaten it yet, I guess.
Just beat it.
Wish there was more going on gameplay-wise. And the lack of NPC interaction is a serious problem.
But everything else was goddamn incredible.
I'm still pretty early into this one and I've gotta say that I'm disappointed that they doubled-down on the shooter thing instead of going back to System Shock 2-style level/skill design. Besides that, I'm having a good time. The art design is astonishing.
Is the soundtrack available to buy?
The amount of shooting only increases as the game goes on. There's a serious glut of the stuff, which is why I haven't finished the game. I want to see the rest of the story, but I'm sick of playing it.
The combat is so fucking fun. The sky rail fights? Holy shit. I want DLC for a sky rail horde mode.
