I don't know, San Francisco is a great town with its own thing going, but man is it fucking lightyears from that Brooklyn hipster vibe.There are like, literally dozens of them all over Brooklyn and the Lower East Side. And the fact that I know that probably doesn't speak well for me. I'm going to write it off to having a lot of friends in bands.
Scarves and umbrellas are feminine. Take that for what you will.
So how hipster is it to be a snob about people thinking you're a hipster?
The hipster/PBR thing is more cliche than fact in my experience. I think it only applies to the under 23/too-stupid-to-like-beer set. Most hipster bars serve a lot of microbrews or imports and don't even stock PBR.
And musically what they like changes every 3 months, so it's hard to generalize about that except to say that they tend to be really fickle and hate what they liked last year.
Okay, well I generally drink Anchor Steam or Arrogant Bastard. Do those count?
