Not true at all. I generally prefer Japanese games, and I own an Xbox. So far I have three Japanese developed games and one American made game (no gamer should be without Halo!).

I don't give a shit how much companies spend on localisation. Their problem not mine.

My whole collection (except my MD games) are Japanese and I won't change that just for the Xbox. I don't like localised games, I like them in their original state before they are butchered with changed music, Americanisms, crap cover art etc and besides, Japanese games (with very few exceptions) come out in Japan first or are exclusive to that territory. These are the forthcoming games on Xbox that I want:

Sidez, if you have some spare time could you give a little info on each of these games, or at least some links to sites that cover Japanese Xbox games. I'm sure there will be enough import-only Xbox games to warrent modding my system, but I just need to find out about them :)

GRAND HEAT - Japanese Burnout
J-PHOENIX+ - I don't know much about the series but it's basically a souped up PS2 port. It's mission and story based as you control a mech who clearly wishes he was Temjin from Virtual On. http://www.takara-game.ne.jp/gameinf...enix_plus.html
KAKUTO CHOJIN - 3D fighter with some very good character design. It's being made by the Bouncer team so the gameplay is in question.
KURENAI NO UMI - AKA Crimson Sea. KOEI game that looks really goegeous.

OTOGI - Made by From Software. Mix Onimusha with Gunvalkyrie and you have Otogi. Looks damn sweet.

sidez do you speak japanese ? i'd buy japanese versions of japanese made games if i spoke the language but i kind of like understanding the game while im playing it. almost all the import games i own i also own the domestic vesions and just bought the import copy for collectibility as the cover art is better 99% of the time.

speaking of i just got Landstalker complete at funcoland -- someone please tell me the Jap cover art didnt look this bad. cause the one i have is horrific.

Sidez, not interested in Thousand Island? It's the third From Software Xbox game and from the trailer it looks great.

You know, I'm wishing that I bought a Japanese Xbox too since most the the Xbox games that I'm really enjoying are either from Japan or have Japanese releases. Besides, I just saw a trailer of Bistro Cupid and I really want the game, but I know it will never get a US release. Not to mention Phantom Crash and getting a bunch of other good games months before US release... -_-

Guess I'll have to look into modding myself or buying a whole new system, though I wish I didn't have to do either. Damn MS for continuing the utterly stupid tradition of territory lockouts.

Well Burnout (Grand Heat) was a U.S. made game, and if you prefer the original state, then should'nt you buy the American version? Also Burnout is one freaking awesome game that no one should pass up on. One other thing, Sega said that their main focus is now on North America, so that would mean more in my book that the games are going to aimed more at the U.S., and I would disagree on Crazy Taxi being aimed at the Japanese. Mainly because it did not do so well there, and the whole game takes place in America, with american characters, and american music. And I have a feeling that your tune might change, considering that non-japanese games have never been better then right now, and they are only getting better. I hope for your sake you don't get left out.
