So did you guys raid this Thursday Mzo? Are there any plans for tomorrow? I'm not gonna lie, I'm losing the motivation to log on since heroics aren't going to happen and the new raid isn't really on the horizon. If you want my DPS to work on stuff like the end bosses or chimaeron I'll hop on for raid nights and help out though.
We got Chim, just end bosses left.
Got Cho'gall to like 4%, dps just needed more practice on taking down eye tentacles.
If we really wanted, heroics could happen, but it'll take like a week or two to gear up the other people and get them more used to the bosses.
p.s. I have a lot of stats homework and a test due Tuesday so I probably won't be on tomorrow.
I'll get on then. My schedule is way better this quarter, in that I no longer have to get up at 6:30 every other day, all my classes are over at 4pm, and I have friday off.
Yeah we actually had to learn some of the fights since we had basically an all-new raid. Josh helped tank the first night and Chris the second, but we did manage to down every boss but the end bosses. What we're mainly lacking is DPS I think, so having a couple of ringers will definitely help.
Since they're not adding more raid content in 4.1 I can definitely see us catching up in gear pretty soon and starting up heroics with a "best of" raid.

You were in a guild that cleared 10 and 25 man content and did heroic content for it. Dave had almost no heroic kills aside from some Ulduar 10 (maybe a couple TOC 10) and I don't think even killed LK in either 10 or 25 let alone did any heroic fights. So before even getting into things like who played PVP and which ones and so on and so forth, there's tons of obvious shit you would have that he wouldn't. You already know this.

Seriously, on Lenneths alt, when I changed it to feral I tanked with half my gear being greens of the Eagle. I had no trouble at all. He probably had heirlooms in every slot and was scared of having a green shield thats level 30 at level 34 or something.
I can remember when I was leveling my DK tank, I had no defense gear, all Stam+Strength shit. The fucking healer wouldn't heal me cause i'd get "critically hit" and "crushing blowed" without "defense gear" as a level 64 in a level 62 dungeon. Morons.

It's time to define the new dominant MMO paradigm, IMO. WoW is the perfect iteration of a design philosophy that started with Everquest. I fear ToR came to the party a little too late with nearly the same design elements. There needs to be a complete shift in mechanics and execution while keeping the ideas alive.
I really like the idea of raiding: group puzzle solving and individual responsibility for maximum collective gains, all wrapped up in unique situations, context sensitive encounters, and a risk/reward ratio that makes you want to succeed and have others succeed. There's something about the PVP that makes the mechanics feel stilted to me, though. Part of it is that I don't like "PvP gear." It's the most obvious example of "avatar strength" in the entire game.
Anyway, I still play from time to time on alts. May pass on Pandaria, though. At least that's what I'm saying now.
