From the games that I've watched, those Devils #'s are seriously inflated. And, keep in mind that The Rock is reachable by Rangers fans, Flyers fans, Islanders fans (yeah, I know, LOL) and to a further extent: Pittsburgh, Washington, Boston are all within 5 or 6 hours. Phoenix doesn't have that luxury.

Yeah attendance numbers are always in terms of seats sold, not people actually in attendance.
Unreal. Now, Fedotenko is out 2-4 weeks with a shoulder injury. Half of the Rangers is their Connecticut team.
Callahan, Dubinsky, Christensen, Frolov, Prospal, Boogaard. All starters, none of which is coming back before the ASG. FML.
I popped in to see if any one was talking about the NHL superhero marketing and noticed the comments about attendance in Phoenix. The problem isn't the pricing, you can get some decent tickets for a good price, however the problem is that they put the arena a good 45 minutes outside of Phoenix in Glendale next to the Cardinals stadium. I would go to more Coyote games however it is at a minimum 1 hour drive for me just to get there. They should have just put the arena downtown, I am sure attendance would spike. The city doesn't have many hardcore NHL fans, just casual fans that don't want to make the drive.

The Predators are doing even better than I could hope for right now. Despite that sad and disappointing game against Chicago on Sunday, they have been doing pretty damn well this season, and I loved seeing them comeback and wining in a shootout against Chicago the night before. If there is any time I would love to see the Predators make it past the first round of the playoff, and god forbid, win the the damn cup, this would be the year for it. The least they could do is win it the last year I might be living in town.
The Preds radio announcers mentioned this the other night when we dominated them. What gives with that? I enjoy the Coyotes. If I do end up moving out to NM, they (and the Avalanches) will be the closest teams to me.Quote:

What I really love is the -48 differential.
So the Red Wings tried to sign Nabokov to be a goalie for them, but while going through wavers as all players do after playing in other professional leagues he was claimed by the Islanders. This does not suit Nabokov it seems and he is apparently not going to report to the Island.
Just curious, is the Phoenix Suns' arena located downtown? Or do they share the same arena as the Coyotes out in the boonies?
Seems like it would make a lot of sense to have both basketball and hockey sharing an arena downtown like many other sports cities do (Chicago, New York, LA, etc.).
NBA and NHL combined would bring in 82 home games a year plus pre-season and playoffs.
If Nashville ever gets an NBA team, I know it would be going in the same building the Predators play in.
