I think this is what stopped my replay. I liked the game a lot my first time through but when I tried to play it again it was boring trying to get to the parts I remembered really enjoying. I figured it was because I had played through the game before and just wanted a highlight reel, but maybe you're right and the pacing at the start just sucks balls.Quote:

I liked the wolf stuff, but it was way padded. Ask me to find eight teardrops instead of twenty and you have a nice little game on your hands.

I don't think i mentioned the dungeons. The dungeons were magical, wonderful places, especially Snowpeak Ruins.
#12: Gears of War 3 (Hardcore). Pretty good conclusion to the trilogy. Will be playing more multi now.
Snowpeak Ruins was a pretty fucking awesome dungeon.
Aliens Infestation (DS)- Loving the number of these Metroidblahahahahhahahvania games that have been popping up. Aliens was decent enough for a playthrough despite a few nagging points:
- holding your gun at a angle is a pain, especially annoying in the boss bloodbaths.
-The system to find other marines actually impedes exploration since there is zero use of tracking a character that can't join you with a full roster.
-The human characters outside your 19 marines/commander seems to float outside the almost non-existent storyline.
60. Sonic Generations

Platinum. 122/122 Challenges, All Main Acts S-Ranked, All Red Star Coins, etc. Fun game, loved both Classic and Modern takes. The complaints of Sonic being out of control seems to be an underpinning of the 3D games, though as you learn the course better, the number of foolish deaths plummets dramatically. Furthermore, certain portions of a track were designed to really only handle forward momentum, so in the event you screw up and come to a complete stop, or try to turn around, the camera goes completely haywire and won't turn to let you see where you're going. Again, problems which occurred but a handful of times, though still jarring.
The level design of loop de loops, twists and turns and pinballing off of balloons, enemies or what not is really fun. The blur and sense of speed are still great in the Modern stages and I loved the controls in the Classic stages.
Favourite slice of the game was easily the music, either complete throwbacks or newer renditions of Classic tracks. I hope they make a Casino Night stage for DLC.
61. Super Mario 3D Land

100%. Beat all 16 Worlds with Mario and Luigi, found all Star Coins and hit all Gold Flags, 12 deaths. It was a complete impulse purchase on launch, considering how six months in and my 3DS library was looking rather moot, I gave it a shot. To my surprise, what I experienced resulted in perhaps the best Mario game I have played in a long time. The level design is surprisingly robust and very varying. They omitted worlds of >5 strung maps with the same overbearing theme (i.e. desert, underwater, grassy environments) and mixed it up all over to keep things spontaneous.
The Tanooki suit clearly won't fly in a 3D plane since I'm sure the controls for that would have been tricky and completely break the platforming sequences to become dead easy, though floating really is the trump card to make some levels where you might die once or twice much easier. There weren't that many power-ups and I never found the P-Wing since I never died over five times in any stage, at that, more than two times in any stage for me so I might start a separate new file to see what that looks like. The Zelda stage was especially cute.
It is also the first game where I find the 3D works very well and looks great too (less nauseating than I expected and maybe more forgiving towards keeping your hands completely still). Maybe even worth buying a 3DS for. Girlfriend's roommate just bought a Zelda 3DS. Might toss this her way if she's interested.
