it is the second most dangerous game
Twice the Doom. Twice the Dorky.
What is Stupid mode?
it's stupid
edit: I could never play every level with the default weapons. I like to kill things and that is just straight impossible without some super human skill. Doom on UV with carrying over weapons is easy though.
imps throwin' rockets, shotgun guys universally replacing normal dudes, shit like that.
I might have a second executable that generates and uses a random set of levels every time you start it up (assuming you have no save), now that I've messed with it a bit. Unfortunately, I still can't really figure out how to get an external wad loaded after startup (and requests for this functionality made in the past by others to the ZDoom developers have been met with solidly negative responses), but this should still be fun to mess with.
I'd like to try this out, but every time I've tried to play any of the updated Doom engines, I always end up disappointed because the control settings won't let me bind things the way I want to, like it won't let me bind some stuff to my extra mouse buttons, for example.
Tain, since you seem to be the resident expert, can you point us to the better custom WADs out there? I'd like to play that again, and while I played a ton of them long ago, it's been a while.
1.15 is up with a random episode generation mode!
If you start it up with the "-random" command line switch (or double click the included batch), it will generate and use a random episode for you to play. It'll make a new episode every time you start it up with -random and DON'T have a random-level savegame for that particular version of Doom, so you can retry a given randomized episode as many times as you want provided you don't quit the game.
There was a great doomworld article pointing out a ton of custom WADs:Quote:

ZDoom (and this) support all five of my mouse buttons.Quote:

EDIT: it was chocolate doom, not Zdoom. I'll have to give that one a try.
I am going to give this a shot since I am on an old FPS kick (other people can have their flickery NES games ;p) Have you tried Scoredoom?
