Stuff takes up space and doesn't pay rent for the space it occupies. Again, if you don't have a giant house or a barn, then it's not worth holding on to stuff that you don't use. "It might save me money one day" is not an excuse to lug it around every time you move and have it take up precious living space.
I use bookshelves for games and when my shit is actually in a living room I zip tie everything and hide cables as best as possible.
I'm getting rid of my softmodded (and also chipped) Wii and stock 360 Elite soon (anybody want them?) and will only have a PS3. No "game room" here.
