My guess is that in a few generations, Hispanics will largely do the same. Whites have been around in this country a lot longer, and separated quite strongly early on. Today's Mexicans were yesterday's Germans, Irish, Poles, anyone but Anglo-Saxons basically. It's just kind of how this country works (and it's a good thing IMO).
