Any of you guys ever do anything with melty beads? Walmart had a huge pack of them like 75% off, so I got some to make some 8 bit art.

I've made coasters and boxes, but all of my friends matrices are the honeycomb style ones not the square grid type you need to make pixel graphics.
I did buy a Sonic bead sprite from a kid that had a table at a computer show. I felt bad for him. Nobody was buying his shit.
I've always wanted to try them, but never have. I'd go check Wal-mart, but there actually isn't one near me. Did it seem like a price on them that would only be for that local store (like a random clearance section or something), or a sale that might be wider spread?
here is some stuff other people have done

That would be cool. Just remember, SNES sprites will look extra tall and thin when remade on a square grid. Non-square pixels and all that. Super Street Fighter II Turbo Revival has that problem, because it reuses the old console sprites, but the GBA has perfectly square pixels.
Fuck me I want to make fridge magnets like that. So fucking rad.
These things looked pretty good, and some that I can learn, and I hope to learn more on it!
