Okay, so this game is pretty great. I think I should just automatically buy any game that Finch tells me to get, he seems to have a knack for picking games that fly under my radar that I love.

Mine just arrived! Gonna fire it up as soon as I finish eating. SSJN rules!
If you enjoy Monster Tale, Henry Hatsworth is possibly worth checking out. They share more than a few elements.
I'll check it out, it was $10.02 shipped from gohastings.com.
I read a few reviews and watched some gameplay footage on YouTube, and came to the conclusion that this game looks pretty tightbangin'. Snagged a copy of this on Ebay for pretty cheap...should have it in a few days.
It really is great. Way better than any of the post-SOTN Castlevanias. I also love that they put in a lot of bitchin' parallax, the lack of which has been among my biggest disappointment with most modern 2D games.
It's a bit on the easy side so far, but the game looks, sounds, and controls excellently, has a fantastic atmosphere, and playing it cheered me right up when I was kinda bummed. I love it so far.
I'm towards the end of the game now I think with 70% completed, and the way this plays kicks ass. Basically, I'm having Chomp do all the work, as I have his attack in some forms at 999. A typical fight is Ellie runs in, starts kung fuing and Megaman shooting the baddies while Chomp is running around raining destruction upon my enemies. But, unlike a familiar in SOTN or something, you are actually controlling Chomps attacks, which makes it much more satisfying.
I just picked it up and dug into it. At 1st I was a lil so so about the way she controlled but then once I found out she gets a combo system along with MvC style launchers and juggles, I was 100% hooked.
