What Are You Playing? (Spring 2011)

I finally turned on the 360 to play Deathsmiles 2, and have finally played through Halo 3 while I was at it. I can't say the single player campaign was particularly thrilling at the start, but it did get better torwards the middle and end of the game. it really needed an epic boss battle at the end, that silly fight with the monitor doesn't really count.

I might stop somewhere to see if I can grab ODST cheap if I go anywhere tonight.

Also, I finally have a gamerscore of 4000! Um....out of a possible 40,000. I should actually play my 360 games once in a while.

Tried Thor (360) last night and it's quite possibly the worst game I've played in the last 10 years.

Don't. Halo 3 is the best Halo on 360.

Perhaps, but I'm done with it for now. I did grab ODST cheap, I figure it's worth a quick play through the single player campaign. Lol at originally charging $60 for it.

I finished inFamous for the first time this afternoon and it eventually grew on me, which is nice because I really hated it in the beginning. A sandbox game with your very own super powers is nice, but the bugs and weird balancing of getting shot constantly got kind of annoying. Upping defense helped, but whether I was on Easy or Hard, it felt like a pain to play. The story was also laughably bad. I really don't get why people liked it as much as they did. It had some fun ideas and the powers were fun to utilize, but a lot of the game's very underpinnings just bothered the hell out of me.

That said, all the female NPCs in the game were super irritating. Always nagging and treating Cole like garbage. Beat it on a Heroic template.

And now I'm playing Ghost Trick and at Chapter 4. Great animation and it's really charming, but either a) I'm in a negative jaded vibe for games this week or b) I've become too impatient for adventure games, because I find it boring as fuck so far. Crawling up to your goals via objects inch by inch is genius, but having to rewind shit constantly all the fricking time feels time-consuming for nothing.

I heard the story really dragged on and got stupid towards the end of it. Maybe it gets better, but so far I find it boring as fuck.

Nearing the end of Red Dead Redemption single player, really like the dialogue and impressive techonology, hate how repetitive the gameplay becomes.

Probably will finish off all of the Challenges but not sure how much time I'll put into online outside of co-op. Can't be bothered with the achievements.

I can't, no. That dog is the best part of the whole game for me so far.

Played a smidge of Geometry Wars Galaxies on Wii. Can't tell if it's good (pretty sure it isn't) because I'm using the original classic controller which is the biggest piece of shit with which I've ever attempted to manipulate pixels. The analog sticks are so close together, at least in a twin-stick shooter, your thumbs are constantly hitting each other. It's one of the most irritating sensations I've experienced in my life.
