I think with the way certain devs are hurting, the WiiU will get a ton of ports. And for a year the WiiU port might be the best console version. But when the nextgen systems come out, then the WiiU port be easily the worst version.

There's no way developers are going to make a Wii U port of a next gen game. The Wii U will just get PS3/360 port for a couple years before becoming completely obsolete. It happened to the Wii, and the Wii U won't sell anywhere near that well.
Keep in mind, the Wii U CPU sucks, so CPU intensive games from this generation are going to be an uphill battle, let alone next gen's.
C'mon, Yoshi, having a shitty CPU worked so well for the SNES!
Good point. The Wii U should focus on RPGs and its Mode 7 chip.
The Wii U CPU is indeed kinda garbage. But for the most part you're GPU limited on a lot of these games, and while that isn't a powerhouse either, it's in the same order of magntiude as the next ones will be in terms of feature support (not like those really lame DX11 cards that could never do anything they are technically capable of).
I don't really expect it to get GTA 6 though.
More games should have a graphics toggle like Halo Anniversary. I would buy an F-Zero that looks modern and then you hit a button and it's all car sprites and Mode 7 tracks.
I would prefer my development resources be used for things that enhance the current version.Whenever it happens, it's kinda cool to see in a few spots, though
