Official Wii U Thread

No Day-1 Wii U for me. I ordered it through a local chain, Bull Moose, and they're getting shafted on the first shipment. I'll manage to get over the loss somehow, maybe by paying $1500 on Ebay instead of just waiting a week or two for it to arrive.

This is the third one, fourth if you count the iOS remix game. I completely understand that, though, because it's iOS and people love buying shit that isn't at all fun on iOS. Something like Scribblenauts is a "Might as well" purchase.

Super Scribblenauts, and then Scribblenauts Remix for iOS which has levels from both games and some new ones.

Just checked the Wii U out at Walmart for the first time, the tablet controller really impressed me. It's way more comfortable than I was expecting, sturdy yet light, and the screen was a pleasant surprise too. After hearing that it wasn't multi-touch I was expecting it to be about as responsive as dogshit, but it was fine. The problem for me is that there's no killer app compelling me to buy it. I haven't played a console video game in 2 years now because I'm burnt out on playing the same shooters over and over again, I work long hours and when I get home I want to curl up with my girl, play on my ipad, and maybe catch up on Dexter. I'd love to get reeled back into console gaming by an innovative new Nintendo console, and I am impressed by the Wii U as a piece of hardware, but minigames do nothing for me and if I wanted to play NSMB U I'd play the Wii version that I own but barely played. Where is the killer app? I keep hearing that this is the best launch lineup ever but it seems like one of the worst, because it's all ports of games I could already play on my 7 year old 360. I'd rather just play more Ascension on my ipad.
